Appalling service reaching lower standards than I thought possible
To be honest my trips to Asda had already become a rare event as the shopping experience with Asda has been on a rapid downward direction for a number of years but todays experience has finally convinced me to never shop there again!
Popped in to my nearest store to collect an item I had ordered online from George and to also return an item bought instore that was not suitable. Should have been a quick visit you might think but it was not.
To start with the collection terminal was not working and had a sign on it saying go to Customer Services which I did. Having queued patiently (there are never enough staff on shift these days to cope with demand!) I was told 'oh you will have to go and use the collection terminal we cannot help you here'. When I informed them of the sign on the terminal after consultation with several other members of staff I was eventually informed that a system update had been done that day and everything was now working so I could use the self check-in.
So, whilst at Cust Services I asked to return my store purchase for a refund and what a fiasco ensued thereafter. To cut it short the member of staff seemed unable to refund me the correct amount and together with another member of staff insisted that I was only entitled to a partial refund as I had part paid using Asda Rewards which utter rubbish. It was only after I insisted on being refunded the full amount and after involvement of four other members of staff that they eventually worked out how to do it and my refund was processed.
OK off to the collection terminal - oh wait it still has a sign on it saying not working and go to customer services. So back to the queue, stuck behind another customer whose return they were incapable of processing to then inform the same staff member I dealt with earlier that the self checking for collection was still not working and I was directed back to the cust. svc. desk.
After a long drawn out debate among the staff they finally figured out how to process my collection!
I did ask why given the system issues they were having the store manager was not on the floor helping sort out the chaos only to be informed 'oh they've taken the day off'. So who is in charge I asked 'Well no-one really we are just expected to muddle through as usual'.
Sorry Asda, this is not how you should be treating your customers or your staff who in difficult circumstances were genuinely trying to help but the lack of leadership and I suspect inadequate robust training on new systems is a serious failure.
Well I'm done with Asda forever now, poor quality produce at prices that are (even with roll-back) not competitive and the absolutely terrible way customers are treated has convinced me that even if I end up paying slightly more for some stuff it is without doubt worth it.
Keep this up and you will not be on the high street for much longer - no great loss in my recent experiences.
Shopping online is a disadvantage
Shopping online is a disadvantage. The Valantines day meal deal sold out. You can only buy one main meal there's no sides, starters and no desserts and the choice of drink 4 bottles of wine. If you cant make a meal from the choices that are left it should be removed. You lost another order. You know its going to be popular get more stock! Its not rocket science is it.
Not Disabled Friendly
Called in to Northwich, Cheshire, store this morning. Only wanted a couple of things. NO manned tills open so had to queue to use self checkout. I have disability which makes using my hands difficult. I couldn't scan the items, the man at the next checkout had to help me out, then I couldn't get the pay screen to come up, so had to call an assistant over. I was paying cash and had to wait ages for my change to come out in three separate bits. These self service tills are NOT disabled friendly, and NO staff to help.
Hopeless
Hopeless. First online order. Incorrect multibuy discount applied. Thought it would be easy to sort out (as per Ocado). WRONG! Hopeless CSA who couldn't get her head around it and argued the toss over £4. Annoyed as I thought it would be a simple 2 min call. Won't be shoppping online with Asda again.
Asda points app
Asda reward app is a joke , I've been shopping at Asda weekly for the last six months, I scan the app each time, I had, 33 points in my wallet , but it doesn't update when I do my weekly shopping, it stays at 33 points, until today , when I scanned the app my wallet went to zero, 0 points.
I have now deleted the app and will do the weekly shop in Tesco, which is cheaper and I get rewards and club card prices.
Good bye Asda.
My delivery was due between 8pm to 9pm…
My delivery was due between 8pm to 9pm and now it not coming till 21.21pm don’t use the delivery service you won’t get your shopping on time when people pay for a delivery the customer should get there delivery in the time frame there have picked not 20 or 30 minutes late it a joke I will be doing my shopping some where else I have fresh food in the shopping aka chicken thighs and sour cream and chive dip
Just repeated poor service
Just repeated poor service, frequently rude drivers, often they seem to have no trolley so have expected me on my own, whilst I was ill, to bring shopping bags down to the road from my flat a 100m walk to take my shopping in on my own.
A lot of stuff you want is generally out of stock and always gets replaced with stuff you don’t want, but you are informed about it at such short notice you can’t really refuse. The app is old fashioned and the order tracking is poor.
I downloaded the Asda Rewards app…
I downloaded the Asda Rewards app expecting to actually save money, but honestly, it feels disappointing. Most of the rewards are tied to specific “Star Products” or spending targets, so unless you’re buying exactly what they promote, you don’t really earn much. It’s not like traditional loyalty schemes where you collect points on every shop.
The cashback builds up very slowly, and it can feel like you’re scanning the app every time without seeing real benefits. For regular shoppers, it doesn’t always translate into meaningful savings.
Personally, I find Tesco Clubcard, Sainsbury’s Nectar, or even Lidl Plus offer clearer and more consistent value. With those, the savings feel more straightforward and easier to understand.
Overall, the Asda Rewards app might work for some people, but in my experience, it hasn’t delivered much value.
Have only used the online delivery…
Have only used the online delivery service 3 or 4 times, and everytime Ive used it, my fresh items have had 1 or 2 days life on them. I buy ready meals for work ( so due to short dates I have to eat 6 of them in 2 days)
I think I will stick to other companies in future because Asda just keep letting me down.
Food quality is terrible
Food quality is terrible, I won't be shopping in asda again. I noticed the prices are just the same as sainsburys and morrisons, dont be fooled thinking they are cheap!! The only thing that is cheap is the food quality.
Asda rewards not showing despite…
Asda rewards not showing despite spending hundreds of pounds at a time in store. Customer service number doesn’t connect and impossible to connect any other way. Asda is clearly doomed
Saw advert for £12.00 valentines meal
Saw advert for £12.00 valentines meal, 80 minute bus to slough asda, 20 min to find end of aisle valentine meal, and main aisle rest of deal, confused 1 add said, 1starter1main2side1wine, other add said 1starter1main2side1desert.
Brought,
1 starter 2scollops in shell
1 main lasagne
2 side dauphinoise potatoes
1 wine sparkling rose
Needed to catch bus home or wait another hour, so did not check until home, charged full price for these items,
£23.75 NOT £12.00 I expected, too worn out as another disabled trip, not appealing.
Would have expected clearer signage if issue was my mistake, or explanation at checkout that order was not right.
Asda Soya Drink (milk) 58% price hike
Asda Soya Drink (milk) price hike of nearly 60%. Its been 50p/litre for a long time so I was shocked today when I find that Asda has repriced it to 79p. Same sell by date, just opportunity pricing, I'm sure their stock will stay on the shelf for a long time, they have until Christmas to sell it.
I really thought Asda's new management were on the right track. Sadly they've lost it. Plenty of better supermarkets closer to home for me.
Worst customer service to exist ……
Worst customer service to exist … Never get to speak to anyone at Asda or even in England.
All foreign , cant hear you or understand you…very convenient 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
NO MATTER WHAT THE ISSUE IS ….YOU CANT SPEAK TO THE CORRECT STORE OR AN ENGLISH PERSON.
RUDE , USELESS AND REALLY DO NOT CARE .
THEY DONT EVEN RESPOND TO BAD REVIEWS.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE ⚰️⚰️⚰️👊🏻👊🏻‼️‼️
ASDA fined £500 000 for out of date food
I recently purchased a jar of Asda's own brand Lasagne sauce the last one on the shelf right at the back of the bottom shelf. At home my wife struggled to open it and so did i until I realised why. Its Sell-by date was 2023 and it had started to solidify and sealed itself shut.
I returned it to ASDA Darlaston and they were adamant that I didn't purchase it at their branch. I was adamant that I didn't buy it in 2023 or purchase it from any other branch.
Well to cut a long story short the big bad ASDA refused to back down so I left it with them as an early Valentines present. I then went to ALDI were I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of their fresh produce compared to ASDA and all at a cheaper price.
Today I read an article reporting how ASDA was given an hefty fine for selling out of date produce so it wasn't an isolated incident. The comments sections of the papers who carried the report also prove that this is not an isolated incident. It is acceptable that these errors are going to take place with such a big company BUT and its a big BUT..... the Customer Service stinks. Its not my first run in with ASDAs poor Customer Service either.
Last year I chose to use the Self Checkout and Scanner. As a Computer Science graduate and Computing Teacher I quickly realised that the Scanner network was running particularly slow. Items that were being scanned would not register so you would try a second time only to find that it then double beeps adding two items. This continued throughout my shop with me having to rectify it a few times. At the Checkout I got selected for a check which was highly likely owing to the amount of adjustments that was required. There check found several items missing and after hearing my explanation the member of staff dealing with the check had the audacity to ban me from the store. Claiming the device is infallible. Sorry ASDA but 100% perfect Computer systems are only present in Science fiction movies and usually with ulterior motives. Over 200 Scan & Go updates last year points to a product under construction in a search for excellence rather than the perfect product
Poor Customer Service: Refused to Check Stock
I called ASDA to ask a simple question about whether a product was in stock before making a trip.
The lady on the phone said they couldn’t check and that I’d have to visit the store instead.
This is poor service, a lot of other retailers can instantly check availability, and some even show live stock online. Being told to just turn up wastes customers time and money, especially if unavailable. I hope ASDA reviews this process and improves stock checking support for customers.
Jean W in Glasgow Forge is a star
Glasgow Asda Parkhead cafe . I was served by Jean W who was super happy and friendly. The soup deal is delicious
Since it's half term next just be…
Since it's half term next just be careful if you take your kids into Asda Boston the managers are well known for following kids about the managers have stalked me the supermarket and it made me feel awkward just a friendly warning
