Scammers. I cancelled my subscription on 1st January. They have today taken payment of £62.50 even though my renewal was only supposed to be £37.50. But actually should be nothing as I’ve cancelled. Luckily ive kept screenshots of my cancellation which I’ve shared with my bank, I’ve now had to get my bank involved to get my money back that has been fraudulently taken, the bank has had to put a cpa block in place against this company to prevent them taking more money from my account in the future. I have contacted Skoove but have had no responses at all. No doubt they’ll put a generic b/s message on here saying how they’ve contacted me to solve this issue. They haven’t. Completely scam company. Avoid
Update. It’s now been several days and still no response from Skoove, it seems that this is the normal way that they operate.
Update. They have now contacted me and have asked me to cancel the dispute with my bank probably because they will face an extra charge from the bank for the time it takes them to investigate. What a complete load of hassle this has caused.

I am writing to warn potential customers about Skoove's business practices. My primary issue is with their extremely deceptive auto-renewal process, which allowed them to take payment for five consecutive years without my explicit consent or any usage of their service.
The core problems are:
- No pre-warning or confirmation: Payments are taken automatically without any advance notification or opportunity to confirm the renewal. This is a practice other reviewers have also experienced.
- Defensive and difficult refund process: When contacted, their customer service was unhelpful and overly defensive, making it unnecessarily difficult to obtain a refund.
- Likely violation of consumer rights: Taking payment without clear, proactive consent and without sending a reminder is likely illegal under UK consumer law, particularly the regulations around subscription renewals.
When customers raise this issue, the company's public replies are telling. They consistently defend their auto-renewal policy and shift blame onto customers, stating that the terms were clear upon sign-up. However, this defense ignores a critical legal and ethical failing: providing clear terms at the point of sale does not replace the obligation to send a reminder before taking renewed payment. Under UK legislation, a reminder is a separate, required step. Even if a customer opts out of marketing messages, companies are still obligated to send transactional communications, such as renewal warnings. By not doing so and then blaming customers, Skoove is not only being hostile but is also operating a renewal process that is likely non-compliant with consumer protection laws in several markets.
While they eventually refunded the most recent renewal, given the nature of this process, a refund for all unauthorized payments, and updaing their processes would have been the correct course of action. As another reviewer noted, a decent company would refund for an unused service, but Skoove's model appears based on auto-renewals rather than customer satisfaction.
I would highly recommend against signing up. The company is customer-hostile, and there are certainly better, more transparent options available for learning music.

II initially had an issue with a subscription renewal that I wasn’t expecting and reached out to Skoove’s support to clarify the situation. Although the charge had already been processed and even upheld during the bank’s dispute process, Skoove reviewed my case carefully and decided to issue a full refund as a goodwill gesture.
Their communication was transparent, professional, and genuinely understanding throughout the entire process. They took my feedback seriously and handled everything in a respectful and customer-focused manner.
Mistakes and misunderstandings can happen, but what truly matters is how a company responds — and Skoove handled this situation with integrity and care. I greatly appreciate their support and willingness to make things right.

J’utilise Skoove depuis 2024 (après souscription d’un abonnement à 49,90€) et, si les cours sont globalement corrects, mon expérience avec leur service client et leur politique commerciale est très décevante.
J’ai découvert que mon abonnement avait été renouvelé automatiquement sans aucune notification préalable, alors même que je n’avais donné aucun accord explicite pour poursuivre l’abonnement.
Le prélèvement de 149,99€ est intervenu le 29/11/2025, un an après mon achat initial, sans message d’avertissement, contrairement à ce qu’exige pourtant l’article L215-1 du Code de la consommation, qui impose au professionnel d’informer clairement et en amont tout consommateur avant la reconduction d’un contrat.
J’ai contacté le service support pour demander l’annulation et le remboursement, mais je n’ai reçu aucune réponse, ce qui est particulièrement regrettable pour un service par abonnement.
La procédure manque réellement de clarté et donne le sentiment que le système de renouvellement automatique est là pour piéger les utilisateurs inattentifs plutôt que pour offrir un service transparent.
Je partage mon expérience pour alerter les futurs utilisateurs :
➡️ Vérifiez attentivement les conditions de renouvellement lors de l’inscription.
➡️ Surveillez les dates de souscription, car aucune notification ne semble envoyée avant le prélèvement.
➡️ N’attendez pas un support réactif, en cas de problème.
C’est d’autant plus dommage que le produit en lui-même pourrait être satisfaisant.
Mais l’absence de communication et la politique commerciale appliquée dans mon cas laissent une impression très négative du service.
En conclusion, ce sont donc 149,99€ que je ne pourrai pas utiliser en cette période de Noël pour les cadeaux des enfants; et cela me scandalise profondément.

Suite à ma réclamation, Skoove a finalement répondu favorablement et accepté de me rembourser une partie significative du montant prélevé. Je les en remercie, et je tiens à le préciser pour être totalement transparent vis-à-vis des autres utilisateurs.
Deux points restent néanmoins importants à souligner :
- La manière dont une entreprise communique en dit beaucoup sur ses valeurs. Skoove gagnerait véritablement en crédibilité en améliorant la clarté et la régularité de ses communications auprès de ses clients.
- L’entreprise dispose manifestement des outils nécessaires (ERP, CRM, solution Helpdesk etc.) pour informer efficacement les utilisateurs bien en amont d’un renouvellement. Les difficultés de communication évoquées dans d’autres réponses à des clients semblent donc moins relever de contraintes techniques que d’un choix organisationnel ou commercial qui manque de transparence.
Vouloir gagner des clients est une chose, savoir les conserver et les fidéliser en est une autre. L’oublie-t-on parfois encore?

Payment taken fraudulently, read the other reviews. They sign you up with a discounted offer then take the renewal amount without notifying you or even confirming when you setup the discounted offer. This is clearly their plan even though they deny it in other reviewers reviews on Trustpilot. We haven't used the Skoove app as to honest it isn't very good, any decent company that could see that it hasn't been used would redund the money with no issue but clearly their business model is for people to auto renew rather than customer satisfaction. Don't reply to this review asking if I would like further support, just return my £124.99! Don't use these scammed, if it was that great of a product they wouldn't have to lure you in with a drastically discounted price then try and trap you into not cancelling the next year's recurring payment, total deceitment!!

Same thing as many others - autorenewal kicked in with no reminder at full price. They say it is your fault because it is clearly stated upon signing their policy on autorenewal, but it goes beyond that - no messages of any kind (progress, tips) to make you aware that you have an active subscription. This company could easily correct this with a reminder or even an email with the receipt for the renewal payment but they want to hide the subscription from you to keep milking your credit card. Don’t support a company like this!

Betrug!!! Ich habe vor drei Jahren ein Abo abgeschlossen, dann gekündigt, weil die App einfach meine Erwartungen nicht erfüllt hat. Dann wurde nach Ablauf des Abos trotzdem wieder abgebucht. Nach Beschwerde bei Skoove wurde das Geld rückerstattet und man hat sich entschuldigt. Die Sache war für mich erledigt und ich habe nicht mehr drüber nachgedacht. GROßER FEHLER!! Heute (27.11.2025) sehe ich zufällig, dass wieder 149€ für ein Jahresabo abgebucht wurden, aber das war noch nicht alles. Ich habe die Abrechnungen des letzten Jahres durchgeschaut und siehe da, im November 2024 wurden mir ebenfalls 149€ abgebucht und das obwohl ich mein Abo bereits ein Jahr zuvor gekündigt hatte! Morgen gehe ich zur Polizei und mache eine Anzeige.

For now I cannot recommend Skoove as an app to learn from a real piano due to its technical issues in note recognition, I have a ticket open with their team already since two weeks, but currently this application is far away from being adequate at any level for learning due to its shortages on a mere technical scale. I hope they’ll be able to fix it whatsoever in the future, too bad given the interface seems sleek and it is also well advertised by several blogs/papers.

I signed up for the free trial but decided to buy the premium lifetime subscription during the free trial so that it would start immediately after the trial ended.
After my first day's lesson, I decided that this was not for me. There was no real feedback just a continuous voice telling me to either play faster or slower and a status showing how many notes you got right. I also didn't quite get the hang of the music theory. The music (Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven) required, I believe, two sharps but when you played them in some instances it was deemed wrong. It was very confusing with no Help button.
I decided to cancel my subscription (annual) which had been paid for by DD. Skoove instructions state that you can only cancel and get a refund via Apple app or the website depending on how you paid. This is important, so make a note of how you paid and what equipment you used e.g. iPad/mobile/tablet. I paid by card via Skoove's website but their digital assistant insisted I had to go via Apple. Eventually when I contacted Apple they confirmed (what I already knew) that payment was not via them but by card. I also had an email from Skoove (Julia/Shinto) confirming cancellation. My bank confirmed Skoove was paid directly. I could not get Skoove to give me a refund.
Despite several emails to Skoove asking for help with my refund nothing was resolved despite their email confirming cancellation. My three replies to their messages sending my bank payment chit bounced. This is also important as it seems Skoove will bounce your messages where you are asking for a refund.
Attempts to speak to a human online via Chat proved negative. I am still waiting.
I cannot recommend either the lessons or their refund/payment methods. You are dealing with a virtual assistant as it appears humans are scarce.
BEWARE if you intend to use this app.

5 out of 5 for the beginner like me. I love the song selection, the short lessons, and the overall look and feel of the app. It was very important for me to be able to learn songs from movies and games I like. Found plenty here! Now I just need to find time to practice:D
Very intuitive to use, I am a very visual person and Skoove makes practice easy and fun for me and my wife, moreover I go at my own pace, at home thus can squeeze even a few minutes of practice everyday.
Attention le jour où vous voulez arrêter votre abonnement, il y a des bugs qui vous en empêchent. Impossible d'annuler ! Je les ai contactés par chat car je vais être débité de 150€ dans un mois car ça fera un an, ils disent qu'ils ne trouvent pas de compte avec ce mail...même mail qui sert à me connecter ! La belle affaire. J'irai porter plainte si je suis débité.

I played piano as a child for a few months, but really didn't get along with my teacher. I kept my piano for all those years and now that I have children of my own, I thought it might be a good moment for me AND the kids (8 and 11) to look into piano tuition (online!). And I found Skoove. We love the easy lessons and song section. Skoove is interactive and I'd never thought me and the kids would progress so fast. We made it a nice habit now to spend time together at the piano as a family. Only downside, you cannot print PDFs (that's minus 1 star). Overall I can thoroughly recommend the app. Thanks, Skoove.
