Sid I love Death. What was especially unique was their music evolved with every album. If you don't already know about Death, you've been living under a rock.

Beginning with Scream Bloody Gore, a raw and aggressive slab of old school death metal.

Recommended for fans of Slayer, Possessed, Obituary, and Massacre. Favorite track: Denial Of Life.

rvss.eel As a creature evolves over time, there is no one instance that one species gives birth to the next, it happens gradually. And yet a line has to be drawn somewhere to define the separation. For Death metal, my line is with Scream Bloody Gore, the first ever of its kind, with genes strong enough to create a new, dominant life form in the world, one which would then branch off into many sub-entities of its own. Take my word for it. I'm an expert. After all, I was three years old when it released! Favorite track: Zombie Ritual.

mocata9 I know many people prefer the later albums, but for me, this is the best Death album. Everything that follows it may be good, but not as good for me, once again showing that being more technical or sophisticated doesn't always mean the album is better. This album is straight forward and raw, but it is classic to an unbelievable level. I have a bobble-head of the cover and it is still a genuine death metal classic, that is how good this album is.

DEATH's legendary 1987 debut 'Scream Bloody Gore' is more than just an untouchable album - upon its release, it was positively genre-creating. 'Scream Bloody Gore' founded the quintessential death metal sound, with more tormented riffs, screams, and leads than the world had ever imagined, and established Chuck Schuldiner's inimitable phrasing and songwriting style as the most singular voice in the burgeoning genre. Today, the album is viewed unanimously as one of the all-time most important cornerstones of death metal. As the final chapter in Relapse's comprehensive DEATH reissue series, ''Scream Bloody Gore' will now receive the deluxe reissue treatment on a wide variety of formats including 2CD, Limited Edition 3CD, LP, Deluxe 2xLP Boxset, and cassette versions.

Like the preceding DEATH reissues, the deluxe reissue of 'Scream Bloody Gore' has been meticulously remastered from the original tapes by Alan Douches (Death, Mastodon, Nile) and includes a plethora of bonus content, including previously unreleased recordings and rehearsal demos, super-expanded packaging, and brand-new extensive liner notes from former DEATH drummer / Autopsy founder Chris Reifert, Sepultura's Max Cavalera, and original 'Scream Bloody Gore' producer Randy Burns.
