Absolutely joke of a company.
I was harassed by a seller, sent inappropriate messages. They also tried to bribe me for leaving a bad review all of which was sent to Etsy with screenshots. I told them I felt unsafe and unsupported and the "support staff" were completely unsupportive telling me to keep checking my emails.
Where's my item?
Purchased an item. Seller had good feedback. Item didn't arrive. Courier tracking just said waiting for parcel. Too late, saw all bad feedback. Most good feedback all from same person!! ETSY site is useless when things go wrong. Lots of lovely people selling lovely things. Shame that some people ruin it. Won't use site again.

Why this Etsy actively blocks sellers’ growth ?
This is not a minor inconvenience — it is the core issue
Sellers are expected to: buy materials upfront pay for production, packaging, and advertising ship orders on time.
All while the money they already earned: is locked inside Etsy cannot be reinvested into the business often forces them to finance operations out of their own pocket.
For small businesses, this is a direct growth killer.
For Etsy, it means reduced risk, total control, and sellers carrying the financial burden.
Impossible to contact
Tried to contact Etsy with a complaint about an item bought from Little Silver Kiln but couldn’t communicate with anyone and the options available weren’t relevant. I ordered a cherry blossom light from a company called Picktock on Etsy. I was given the wrong tracking number and the goods never arrived. I got my money back via Paypal. I complained to Etsy about the way this seller was accusing me of trying to get something for nothing and threatening to ask Etsy to put a debt on my house. I had lots of conversations via Etsy and they assured me they would not tolerate this sort of behaviour and they were taking the matter seriously. I also advised them that I thought items were being imported from China and were not genuine.
Six weeks later they have done nothing. They have not contacted me and Picktock is still trading and getting one star reviews on all their sales.
There are lots of online sites to purchase goods that are really good but I would not recommend this one
After posting the above review I did get an email from Etsy asking for details so they could look into the matter. I wrote a full account of what had happened including the fact that the seller was threatening me. Guess what they have done about it, NOTHING

La mia esperienza con Etsy è stata purtroppo negativa e deludente.
Mi sono registrato sulla piattaforma con l’intenzione di vendere, pagando anche il costo iniziale di 16 € richiesto una sola volta solo per la registrazione, come previsto da Etsy per chi vuole provare a iniziare.
Nonostante ciò, la piattaforma non ha mai funzionato correttamente. Ogni volta che cercavo di caricare le fotografie per completare le inserzioni, il sistema si bloccava e non mi permetteva di andare avanti. Di fatto era impossibile completare le inserzioni e iniziare a vendere.
A questo si aggiunge il fatto che mi sono stati trattenuti circa 4 € per due semplici modifiche a un’inserzione, senza che io abbia mai potuto vendere nulla, a causa dei continui problemi tecnici.
Trovo scorretto far pagare utenti che vogliono solo provare la piattaforma, quando poi il sistema non consente nemmeno di completare le operazioni di base. Anche se Etsy vende molti prodotti, questo non giustifica un servizio che, almeno nel mio caso, non è stato affidabile.
Alla fine ho deciso di abbandonare definitivamente la piattaforma e devo dire che sono totalmente felice di averlo fatto.

Be careful!!!Allows fake products to be sold on their site and feel that their priority is to protect the seller, NOT the innocent customers hard earned money. Manager responses are supposed to be within 24 hours, 3 days now and still no response. I’ll stick to eBay in future, they action fraud reports and protect the customer as a priority.

I have been purchasing through Etsy for over five years. I have never ever had a problem from any of the business I have ordered from. In fact most of them I still order from them five years later. I do get some parcels through Royal Mail - which we all know are not very good. But never had a serious problem. Mostly a lot are delivered through Evri. I have NEVER had a problem with them. Always get the same Courier - apart from when his on holiday. Then I get his son! Only once I needed a refund- Etsy immediately gave me it. So I have NOTHING negative to say about Etsy. And everything I purchase I am delighted with

Placed my order but the product didn't look the same as the picture. Poor quality. I also made a mistake of ordering two items. I contacted the seller and they assured me only one would be sent out. However I paid for two and received two.
Bad Communication
I used to love ETSY until they wrongfully blocked my card from buying any thing on Etsy. All I did was try to re-buy my stickers and that resulted in a ban, for some bizarre reason. I’ve been shopping on and off Etsy for years! The communication via email has been poor ever since, and lacking in information as to why and how this has upsettingly happened to me.
A great disappointment
My seller, Paula Watson, from Saddler leather goods just did not communicate very well. First the item I purchased went all the way up to the north of England when I live in London! I constantly had to message her regarding a return, and she said once I returned the item she would refund me. However the item arrived 3 days ago and she now says her 'distributor' only deals with refunds on Friday which she did not say previously. Also the product I received was listed as purple. However it was not purple! It was a very dark dismal colour, when I queried it with her she said it was ultriviolet! which it does NOT say in the description.
Also when you give feedback which Etsy ask for it stipulates that it will not be shared with seller and does not affect their shop in any way! What is the point then? Sorry I do like the idea of Etsy but you cannot beat Amazon for good service!
Shockingly Bad Customer Service
I love selling on Etsy. The majority of customers are excellent. But Etsy’s customer service is shockingly bad. Automated systems, agents in chat rooms who seem unable to understand problems and appear to simply cut and paste from information on Etsy’s help pages.
No telephone contact is available. When are these big companies ever going to realise that in particular my generation who grew up with outstanding UK customer service, find automated and chat systems, time consuming, frustrating and pretty useless. They may prove cost effective for companies like Etsy but they are ruining their reputation.
They use useless delivery company
Uses Evri the worst delivery company in the UK. I ordered several items and two parcels were being delivered by Evri. Evri failed to deliver on Thursday and Friday and Saturday despite saying it was out for delivery. The. Today it was delivered over two hours late. That’s 4 days I stayed in waiting for this delivery. I’m so angry. I will never order from Etsy again as long as they use Evri.
BEWARE - DAZZLEDREAMS
In 2022 I purchased two rings advertised as 14kt white Gold - they are silver, I only just found out. However after alerting Etsy they do not appear to be bothered and are obviously happy to have a fraudulent company selling on their platform to get their commission!
