now let us discuss this topic below

    • Ghibli Playlist in the background while you're studying/doing your homework
    • Having yummy teas to drink while you work
    • Baking, painting, drawing, daydreaming, and walks on your study breaks
    • Having beautiful flowers around your work area
    • Having those taper candles to light up your desk while you're working or while you're reading a cozy book
    • Watching ghibli movies in your spare time(Howls moving castle 😌)
    • Cuddling with a cozy blanket in the early mornings watch the sun rise
    • Wanting to dye your hair silver so Howl can say it looks like starlight....
    • Ahem..sorry...anyways
    • Practicing you favorite hobbies (sewing, reading, writing, drawing, painting, dancing, etc. Anything you've ever wanted to learn or try! It doesn't have to be aesthetic!)
    • Drinking yummy hot cocoa when it's cold and the stars are bright~
    • Wearing beautiful long dresses(or a nice pair of trousers and blouse or dress shirt...think Howl)
    • Visiting the farmers market
    • Visiting local shops to buy your everyday things (maybe shopping from small businesses)
    • Learning your favorite recipes from the studio ghibli films
    • Eating lots of tasty and seasonal foods!
    • Eating foods that make you happy(can you tell that I like food🖤)
    • Eating 3 meals a day
    • Go outside and enjoy nature!

  • Adding to this!!

    • House plants on as many shelves as possible
    • Flower teas in clear pots
    • Lofi ghibli jazz playing in the background
    • A small arts and craft drawer in case you get a (rare) spur of artistic inspiration
    • Wearing dangly earrings to help you dress up for the day, even if you're staying at home
    • Breakfast for lunch - eggs & toast
    • Homemade lattes and milk teas in an oversized mug
    • Fruits and veggies to snack on
    • Hot soup on chilly days and nights
    • Standing on your patio (front or back) to bask in the warm sun
    • Layers of white curtains to let light into your room
    • Ribbons and scrunchies and clip hair clips to keep your hair out of the way while you work

    hello, daisy ~

ghibli films all have a different theme, but they all share a romantic simple lifestyle…

♡ be patient and enjoy a simple routine (open the windows when you wake up, change out of your pajamas, water your plants, enjoy a drink by a window or outside…)

romanticize all your tasks ! (wear cute aprons for cleaning the house, play music as you prep for a meal, etc.)

♡ walk or ride a bike to nearby shops or along trails or quiet neighborhoods, enjoy the sounds of birds, cicadas, and the wind rustling past your ears

♡ shop at local businesses (fresh bread from bakeries, veggies and fruits from farmers markets, flowers from floral shops, craft items from hobby stores, check out books from the library or buy from a bookstore, etc.)

♡ have a soothing hobby to fill your free time; or just play some music, lay down, close your eyes and search for new sounds you haven’t noticed before

♡ go on picnics either with close friends or by yourself (chat with friends or enjoy your lunch while reading a book or doing a hobby- sketching, knitting, etc.)

♡ enjoy homemade meals- ghibli foods tend to be either simple or traditional foods- but always homemade ! (toast with fried egg or homemade jams for breakfast; stews with potatoes, carrots, and corn paired with fluffy bread for lunch or dinner; rice with pickled summer veggies, etc.)

i find that ghibli films highlight noticing the beauty in details while romanticizing a simple lifestyle… so simplify your routine, take life steadily, and awe at the beauty in finding how water glimmers in the sun, how shadows and light dance together beneath trees, how fabrics and hair strands dance in the wind, how nature sings to those who listen to them…
