Headcanons for Donna Beneviento with a human s/o with a cold
Reading through my other RE8 works and these headcanons hit me like a truck.
- Donna is the second most prepared of the Four Lords to help a human s/o with an illness.
- She has more remembered experience with it since her mutation, plus frequent exposure to her “experiments”, has left her more susceptible or with similar symptoms.
- She first panics that you’re going to die (patting you all over with trembling hands and looking for wounds or pain). But once she calms down a bit, she takes charge (a diversion from her usual withdrawn personality) - get to your stations, people (dolls). It’s go time, this is what we trained for.
- Donna and her dolls are here to take care of your every need.
- Stay in bed - You cannot escape her smothering love.
- Donna ensures you take or have everything you need on time. She and her army of dolls are at your beck and call.
- Need some blankets? They’re piling up the least mouldy ones over your feet while Donna knits new covers for you.
- Thirsty? Hungry? Expect cups of water and trays of food brought by four dolls holding them over their heads.
- She’s got medicines to give you too (bought from the Duke, as well as her own herbal concoctions). We’re talking decongestants, painkillers, antihistamines, sleeping draughts, expectorants, etc… Any medicine she can get her hands on.
- Not to mention she’s made soft, irritant-friendly clothes for you to wear when you’re ill. No, you cannot refuse to wear them…well, you can, but she will pout for a very long time. She made it for you, to help you recover, so why won’t you accept it? Between her hidden pouting and silent treatment and Angie’s loud complaining, it will be easier to just accept the outfit (multiple baggy layers and all…and are those…ruffles?).
- If the illness is serious, she gets weepy but incredibly proactive, while Angie just goes really silent and watches you all the time. You’re confined to bed, and the scent of medicine and flowers fills the room as Donna goes overboard with keeping you alive.
- However, if it’s just the common cold/flu and Donna has been assured you aren’t dying, she calms down.
- Donna will want to cuddle. She doesn’t care if she might catch something; she can survive it, and she wants to listen to your heartbeat (just to double-check you’re alive).
- If it’s not serious, Angle will relentlessly tease you and comment on how weak you are. The loudmouthed doll is both your worst nightmare and blessing all in one. She will demand cuddles and that you entertain her (or let her entertain you, since you are now a captive audience - prepare to be serenaded).
- She loudly screams for whatever you ask for to be brought to you by other dolls (she only quiets down if she notices you look uncomfortable or if Donna is in the room … or if you smother her with your blankets under the excuse of a hug).
- When you recover, it will be about two days before you get full freedom back without a worried doll trailing you (Donna doesn’t want you overdoing it).
- Donna will be gifting you more clothes, more layers, and she will pout if you don’t wear them. Silverware/silver thread and copper thread against your skin will feature heavily (for their antibacterial properties). You will catch her sewing while wearing heavy-duty gloves to avoid the itching she gets when she touches the threads for a prolonged time.
- She will start trying to clean up her home properly. Getting rid of the spores and pollen and dust and webs…even if she starts coughing when she breathes in the cleaning chemicals (bought from the Duke). Even if you help by cleaning in her stead, she’ll still try to help or send dolls to carry things for you.
- You cannot convince her not to do this; she loves you and doesn’t want to lose you to something unseen like illness.
- Donna will never admit how scared she gets when you’re ill, but it will always show in her actions.
- Once you’re completely recovered, enjoy your freedom (at least until you get sick again).
