While "Conditions at Hickory" expressed caution for weather with a general eerie undertone, "Forecast Across the Region" is more of an appreciation for weather with a brighter, more relaxed, yet still abrasive and at times cacophonous sound.

Comfort and nostalgia is also a key theme for this album. Take "Distant Thunderstorms" for example. It is the prime example of the feelings I want to evoke from this project. As a child I would often watch The Weather Channel for hours on end, and this track is what I would often hear back then. The over the top advertisements, tranquil acoustic guitars, and even the title emit a warm embrace from my childhood. If you can not relate to the sense of nostalgia, I hope you can at the very least find comfort in it as much as I do.
