So this applies to shit like mackelmore, white rap, and the way it seems we giving white people awards for *checks notes* afro beats and reggae …. Just like jazz afro beats and reggae and rap are all conversations of blackness, they take place in 3 different places and times but ultimately are talking to the same thing. A conversation between black people about the oppression we face at the hands of whiteness and capitalism. It’s highly highly political, and honestly white people and even a lot of non black poc don’t get it. It requires some understanding of the history of black folks and that’s just not something taught much outside the house of black folks. It’s us picking up what we were(are) so often denied, our humanity or history and a creative voice all of which don’t speak comfort into the world but rather bares true the reality of what we have faced and continue to. Even the most gangsta rap or sweet loving sensual afro beats song is speaking to politics and the history of our oppression. And the ways in which we do that are unique to the experiences we have and a few other people groups in the world have dealt with. It’s why Palestinian rap is fire, it’s the politics, it’s the resistance, it’s the unique rhythm and ryhme schemes.

It’s something whiteness can’t offer, it’s not that you don’t have pain, it’s not that you face 0 oppression for being a woman or lgbt or disabled. It’s that at the end of the day you have a level of comfort provided to you by virtue of being white that we will never have in this society, it’s that your forefathers sold away all that made them Irish or German or Italian to be more white, and through that have hollowed out what which you can speak to. The empty politics of whiteness.

It’s one plate with hand painted chine colle. Hard ground, soft ground, and aquatint. Not sure I’d recommend doing all that on a single plate with the chine colle. Was ultimately a huge bitch to print but the press and I learned a lot.

Holy shit those cookies came out exactly how you wanted em! Did it take a few tries to get em right?

Hii nope, i kinda just tried to keep them as on model as possible because i knew i wouldnt be retrying them, cutting them out just took long xd And in my head i was like okay they will also get a bit distored in the oven, possibly bake unevely and i think thats okay and has its own charm to it

Im gonna answer it here as well since a few people asked if i made cookie cutters and no not exactly? I redrew the frames from digital reference on paper and cut it out like so

then i would put the paper on the dough and put some flour around it to have a guideline that wont move and cut it out
