Out of town
Cesar pick me up in a bit
Out of town
Cesar pick me up in a
Ride to a solar system
On our way to mars
With a saddened shrinking
Capsule of a man, dressed for
Sunday in his best looking clothes
Here I am
Help me get a hang of these things

The Trip
14:39
|
|
||
|
On a sunny morning
Waiting for the bus
All my senses choking
Looking at the passersby
And on their eyes
A hint of gold
Driving down the roadway
Running out of time
Looking at the glass
Is burning out my eyes
But now my mind
Is made of gold
Once I met a woman
Eating out for lunch
Minding her own business
Noone even saw it coming
But now it's here
And here it stays
A molten bracelet made of fire
Round your neck
An attitude for making progress
Fails at the check
Perhaps you'll try to make a plan
To reach for the stars
But a callous push to hit the target
Leaves you on mars
I'm talking bout the trip
The trip
The trip
A bird is flying northwards
Tail towards the sun
Butterfly of madness
Changed into its newer form
But still it stays
Shining purple
Somewhere a horse is running
Absent of its leads
The combined sound of elephants
Changed into its newer form
And now it leaves
Shining purple
The element of time
Is no longer yours or mine
Somewhere a tree is growing
Only to someday fall
But in that time
It had its value
A personal strangled by their woe
(I am strangled by my woe)
But never their fears
(But never my fears)
Without a second thought
They cry stolen tears
(I cry stolen tears)
Before the court of public thought
Defenseless I stand
(Defenseless they stand)
The constant drum of beating hearts
Are torn by the hand
(Are torn by my hand)
I'm talking bout the trip
The trip
The trip

Eleven Orange Carrots
08:52
|
|
||
|
Fighting on the freight train
A small blue man with his head in the clouds
A scary mary freakshow
More or less I keep my head on the ground
Signing in the sign room
What's stopping you from reaching the top of the box
A building with no windows
Can't keep running if the world keeps spinning and
On and on and on I go
Eleven orange carrots keep runnin the show
And on this day it's all I know
Eleven orange carrots start to ruin the flow
Whatever you reap you've got to sow
Or eleven orange carrots will get inside your head
Sitting in a bookstore
Writing all the lines to a very good book
A Mormon husband's housemate
Drawing tons of lines to connect all the dots
I'm going fucking crazy
A trash can parlor with no signs on the front
An apple with a top hat
Fighting on the freight with the rest of the eight and
On and on and on I go
Eleven orange carrots keep runnin the show
And on this day it's all I know
Eleven orange carrots start to ruin the flow
Whatever you reap you've got to sow
Or eleven orange carrots will get inside your head
Meeting with my dealer
I traded my toyota cause the trunk wouldn't close
That motherfucking freight train
It crashed into the store and I'm getting blamed
I'm pawning off my new car
Thrown into jail my mom payed off the bail
I'm hopping off my roof now
I jumped and started falling but then I started floating and
On and on and on I go
Eleven orange carrots keep runnin the show
And on this day it's all I know
Eleven orange carrots start to ruin the flow
Whatever you reap you've got to sow
Or eleven orange carrots will get inside your head
What's in my mind will stay there
A boring old hag with a tooth for a nail
A wire starts a house fire
Will anyone live to tell that tale
Killing off my future
What's the point in trying if the scroll has my name
Reading through the lines I
Find I haven't fought it but now I'm getting on it and
On and on and on I go
Eleven orange carrots can't keep running the show
And on this day the more I know
Eleven orange carrots never ruined my flow
Whatever I reap I have to sow
Because eleven orange carrots
Have got inside their heads

The Scroll
12:25

Heat wave
Holler in the dark
In the solitude of ineptitude
Can't wait to drink the cauldron's stew
Heat wave
Wasting in the light
Can't leave it out for too long
Charge it in the dark
And on to
Empty streets advancing
And the pollen in the sky
Is making me tired
And work is calling sending mail
And behind me stands a statue
With its head screwed on to face me
Looking downwards
And noone seems to notice that it's changed
Vying, prying, buying me time
Deciding life's too hard to switch to trying
Cause what's one more day in this hole
The building with the bricks
conceals the view of shops and people
On the streets
Walking talking not knowing where they've been
But still they walk
And they talk
And they try
Even though some day, they will die
I guess they don't let it get to them like I
Deciding life's too quick to switch to dying
Cause what's one more day in this hole
Oh, on the scroll
A leader's fate was wrote
Their days were all foretold
On the scroll
Though their time was gone
They thought they had it all
On the scroll
A wistful hero had come
Soon to find their own
Through the trials of time
They'd fight their way till
Issac's rule was gone
Oh, on the scroll
A leader's fate was wrote
Their days were all foretold
On the scroll
Though their time was gone
They thought they had it all
On the scroll
A wistful hero had come
Soon to find their own

Issac Rules
19:50
|
|
||
|
And what do you know
Do you know more than Issac knows
That I doubt
Oh, that I doubt
The troupe we know took the singer's route
The old pale trail they plow
Terry controls the center stage
Mary starts off the bow
They began the show many years ago
The supplies they towed through the field below
Along the highest hills they took many months to climb
But after all that time they knew just what they found
Issac rules the play
He knows just what to say
And on the road they pray
For the day they're found and their debts will be repaid
And on a glowing november night
A shining star passed over head
The troupe all wished for a guiding light
From which they would be led
To a twinkling future, near not far
Issac grabbed his bizarre guitar
And steered the mighty troupe
Along the scar of the limestone road
And after their long journey they knew just what they'd do
Hey, Issac rules the play
He knows just what to say
And on the road they pray
For the day they're found and their debts will be repaid
Traveling with their woes they tow
Issac rules which way they go
They'll show the world their splendid show
Issac rules which way they go
Their magic spells hold captive eyes
Train their brains to accept the lies
And if they fight it, they will bite it
Waste in dark without a light
It makes no sense to keep them free
Issac's troupe won't let them see
The crumbling kingdom of ash and mud
They made with their own sweat and blood
The scroll fortold, his reign will hold
No matter what, he'll never fold
The warrior from a foreign land
It doesn't matter who they'll be
Because a victory they'll never see
Issac's rule was meant to be
Issac rules

Supermarket
11:35
|
|
||
|
On the path to the supermarket I once drove
The way was cracked and bumped and rocked the car off the road
But when I arrived, the lights they still shined
And there Cesar stood, he didn't look good
A wind was blowing leaves straight through the door
And Cesar warned me it was a sign of a war
I didn't believe him - at first I discredit
But the paper he found, clearly had said it
He said, come here, and see what I found
A scroll so long it could stretch at least to town
He showed me all the names of people unknown
But near the end, my name was wrote
I stopped right there, it wasn't fair, he was playing a joke
There's no way that my life was penned here, in this scroll
I gawked and stared and told him "you got me goin' this time"
But now I asked him why he'd wasted my time
He wrapped up the scroll, he told me just to forget it
Before it was said and done I wanted to know
Who was the power that the scroll said would grow?
Get on the ground, with its fiery claim,
It burns me down to the bone
A wrapping of the paper is a valid way of holding the tome
An inferno is blasting, and brighter than the sun,
The paper acts as fuel for the flame
A scribe with zero fingers can't be trusted to help write your name
The friend I thought I knew, maybe not so true,
Appearing but not really himself, at least, not now
I'll have to find another, but maybe just myself is enough
There's a town he when driving here, voted best for every year,
The only issue's how I'd get there, again, right now
I've found the walls are coming down, my silver mind is gilded with a sheen
They burned down that old store
And forced me out without the scroll
Poor Cesar's brain has turned to them
Now I have
No place to call my home
No friends to call my own
I've got to make it out of here
But it's no
Easy winning from this man
I could've spent to stay away and
Now my heart is throbbing hard
Still my blood runs cold
Still my blood runs cold
You can't blame yourself

Del Ray
And I went outside
And I felt the air
And I let the wind blow in my eyes
And take me higher than the sky
And now I'm free
A shred of hope
To bring me riding for a time
Enough fuel to not run dry
A kaleidoscope of thoughts
Cascade the wringing heat of loss
Beside myself yet here I am
Another day I'll spend falling on my face

And thus they were born
From hellfire scorn
A human who would break the mould
With a fist of flaming gold
Bereft of time or a place to go
A fantasy was left to grow
Of hardy fields to nix the mire
With land like this they could retire
But oft they felt it couldn't be
Life had shown its crooked hand
To take away all hints of progress
Another day to fight away
But they'd never let that stop them
Never turn their back
A challenge every day
Was worth facing on the way
They lived their life with eager promise
The work they did was always honest
With walls and roof it made it easier
Thriving in this home with Cesar
But rent was due next month
And their bills were still unpaid
Their taxes still sat unfiled
The time until did not beguile
Problem here and problem there
The days passed colder, colder
Ne'er they quit the uphill battle
To survive and find the meaning for this
Piercing feeling in their bones
Their limbs grow slow they nearly froze
They've got to leave and make it known
Lest they crack and shatter, now
The secret's out, they're off to town
Can't believe they hear the sound
The smoking engine fill the air
The two front seats filled by the pair
The road is long but not too hard
They'll drive until their hands fall on the
Yard is green and growing fresh
This place is great to finally rest
This place is great to finally rest
They'd never trade it for the world
They'll settle here and make it right
And repeat the phrase beneath the light
We can move mountains
We can climb the sky
A day not spent smiling
Is a day not spent at all
But if you feel like frowning
Just know I'll be there
To keep you upright
And tell you everything's gonna be alright
Because we can't keep on pressing
Ourselves to the ground
The days will get harder
But you've lived the worst before

Bleacher feature
On the salmon
Broken almond
Dean Koontz' latest
Novel picture
Tuesday's mail
I'll tell the tale
Of trying to find a place to work in retail
Bidgit fixture on the wall
Turn it left until it falls
Crazy pictures turn their heads
Burn em or make em take their meds
Nameless figures without legs
Convince them all to walk on pegs
To stand on, and to live on
Why can't you give us a rest?
Put your finger on the pulse of bigfoot and his wife
Veruca salt
and Mrs. Gloop
An old man
and his chicken coop
Nimble hair
but hardly there
I couldn't grow
My age would show
A man named Frank
and Lisa too
Both work at
the people zoo
And if I die, and you shall live
Please strain your tears through sieves
Bidgit fixture on the wall
Turn it left until it falls
