Pikmin: Demade (GBC)
A downloadable game
Overview:
Re-Experience the original Pikmin game in a brand new, fresh way with this GameBoy Color Demake!
While the gameplay isn't quite the same as the original, I'm certain that you will all still find it fun and engaging in the end! With all new areas, abilities, and enemies, you're guaranteed to have fun!
The Story, for Newcomers:
Captain Olimar is a well known navigator of the stars back on his homeworld of Hocotate. He uses his faithful ship, the Dolphin, to carry small freight and deep-space minerals from planet to planet. It is a job of no small importance, and he takes it very seriously.
For a long time, Olimar been working too hard, a tendency of his, so he decided to take some time off by himself to recuperate. The night before he left, Olimar's wife prepared his favorite soup. This soup is a famous dish on his planet, made with three large onions and hundreds of miniature red, yellow, and blue carrots. Once he had gotten his fill of a delicious dinner, he climbed into his warm bed, and began to think of the leisurely vacation that would start the next morning. He fell into a deep, peaceful sleep...
The journey began well. With no set destination in mind, he simply allowed the sleek Dolphin to make its own way through the vast reaches of space. However, a strange feeling came over him... He felt a premonition that my short trip would become an epic adventure. Of course, he dismissed the thought as foolishness from his overactive imagination, and switched the Dolphin to autopilot to make a hot cup of tea. Just then, a massive jolt shook the Dolphin! But, he had no time to react as he was thrown against the control panel and blacked out.
Olimar awakens on a strange planet; a place he could not guess the name or location. Thankfully, he was safe (at least for the time being). However, after he regains his senses, the Dolphin is revealed to be missing 20 vital pieces! To make matters worse, his space suit's sensors indicated that the planet's atmosphere contains high levels of oxygen, an element incredibly toxic to his people. His life support has enough power to support him for another 15 days.
But, he has some hope! This hope lies in the promise of two strange encounters he has had. The first was the discovery of a large object, similar to the onions on his planet. Except, it was enormous, and it rested upon three legs. The other was the appearance of a small life-form eerily similar in appearance to his planet's miniature carrots. Captain Olimar decides to name this small life-form... Pikmin...

This game is kind of on hold, where I'll passively make updates where I see fit, but I have no intention of full-time working on this. I would expect some minor updates every month, and the occasional large update. There's some other projects I would much rather work on, after all...
*Saving is not fully implemented as of v0.1.9.0
(I am in no way associated with Nintendo; the owners of the Pikmin property)
(If you want a more full experience, I would download v0.1.8.6. If you want a nicer looking experience, download v0.1.8.6)

Oh my god how cool ^^
I saw that the last update was in February, is the project still worked on?
Not at the moment, but it's definitely not canceled.
Chances are, a new demo will be out before December. I have all the sprites, tilesets, music, and sounds, but it just needs to be put together.
Is this project still active?
It looks amazing!
Yeah, it's still being worked on!
Right now, I'm experimenting with the gameplay and stuff, trying to fine tune the maps for the Gameboy's limitations and such. I'm projecting that a finalized Impact Site and beta Forest of Hope preview will release between December 5th or 15th.
Awesome! Thanks for your hard work and creativity.
I just made a box for Pikmin Demake ^^, thanks for the development :)
Holy Crap thats so good! Thanks so much!
Thank you for making this! Can't wait to see how the final version turns out. Excited to see the updated art too!
Thank you so much!
waiting on the full version PLEASE 💜
i cant pick up the engine
Thanks for finding that out! Don't worry, in (hopefully) a few weeks, a new version will come out, with even better controls, better AI, and new art! Trust me, it'll be sweet.
nice
very good so far! One suggestion though, the 5 pikman flower only works when you have specifically 5 pikman. You cant pick it up with more than 5. Im not sure if you have the required amount set to a variable or not, but if you make it set to ‘greater than or equal to’ rather than ‘equal to’ that should fix it, unless there’s another reason you have it like that.
Thank you for finding that bug! I'll work on it right away!
