Whidbey
An experimental illustration in which I changed up Whidbey’s design a
bit, mainly how I draw the fleece around his neck, and tested some
brushes in Clip Studio Paint. I really want to refine this old style of
pencil-with-digital-color illustration I was really into years ago.

Ruby 1F4 Cut 4ND: Soldier [Corrupted]
[ Corrupted Rubies are highly temperamental and powerful beasts, with reports of lone individuals challenging larger corrupted gems for territory and proving feats of strength. Packs, usually with numerous units, are generally nomadic. Reserved individuals who do not typically exercise their pyrokinetic abilities may exhibit newfound penchant burning anything that crosses their path.
A fully-corrupted Ruby’s hair will glitch and duplicate across their back, creating a protective, dense mane. Highly protective of Sapphires, both pristine and corrupted. ]
[ Log Date 9-25-92, post-event: mass-corruption … corruption ceased nearing terminal stage. Still responsive to Steven’s (re: Pink Diamond) voice. Similar results have been found in several corrupted Rose Quartzes and Amethysts. Cancel scheduled decommission and subsequent reformatting and harvesting. ]
Pigeon Blood Ruby (1AV Cut-2VA)
A model sheet I put together sometime last year for Pigey, my Ruby OC!
Pigeon Blood Ruby, or “Pigey,” is an ex-captain of Pink Diamond’s court, having once been a squad leader to both Crystal Gem Ruby and Eyeball before Pink Diamond was shattered. She fled from Homeworld to escape execution.
Pigeon Blood Rubies are rare and generally given positions of authority, often over common Rubies. They are generally stronger and a head taller than the average Ruby. Many are either strict stick-in-the-muds or perverted elites, but Pigey is an atypical friendly gem of her class.
She’s an easy-going and serene Ruby, especially having spent the last several thousand years living with roving crew of Rose Quartzes.
In her free time, she’s either writing receipts on others. Or smut.
Her design has remained virtually unchanged since her debut, so I figured I better post this now before I get too critical of my older work.
Will there be more model sheets like this? Maybe! They are fun to make!
‘Sapphire was created to be a special Gem, a gift from one Diamond to another. Her place in Gem society, her role, her fate - all these things were determined before she existed. Except no one could have predicted that a rogue Quartz would start a rebellion and shatter her Diamond. A mix of debilitating anxiety and depression, paired with unexpectedly weak ability in Foresight, has made her worthless to the society that made her. However, a place where she can serve some practical use has been found - out of sight and out of mind.
The Court has not forgotten the disgraceful display made by the Sapphire who ran away with her Ruby Guard and, thus, Blue Diamond does not look kindly upon a handful of Rubies who forgot their place. For their indiscreet courtship of a court Seer, the Diamond finds a solution that is both practical and poetically cruel: If they want a Sapphire to guard, then they are condemned to have one that no one wants in a place where no one wants to go. There they can all dwell on their inadequacies, their disgrace, and what they lost by wanting what wasn’t theirs to have until they turn to dust.
On a world at the very edge of the Diamond Authority’s conquered borders, in a sector where nothing of interest ever happens, placing security would be a waste of technology, resources, and useful Gems. But a Seer of even moderate abilities could be trusted to monitor the region and send an alert if anything problematic or opportunistic does occur. That’s what is said, even though a Gem wouldn’t need to be a Sapphire to know the odds of that happening were poor. It was an exile, regardless of what other words were used to describe it. A convenient place to put unwanted Gems where they can serve what little purpose they’re able to.’
Exiles is a roleplay project between me and my girlfriend @jcstitches! It’s something we indulge in on the side when we aren’t busy with work, and use as an excuse for being unbashedly gay. I might start posting drawings relating to this RP now and then in the future!

Gold Sheen Obsidian (friends call her “Sid”) is an executioner and a harvester of White Diamond’s court. A long-time friend of Pigey, she was tasked with executing the Pigeon Blood before she escaped. She’s more industrious and reserved than most Obsidians tend to be. Polite too. Loves “cookie cats”.

Fire Obsidian is a lapidarist and was once a mentor to Gold Sheen Obsidian and Mahogany Obsidian. She’s a tired, but kindly old thing. Needs a thousand naps and hugs. She likes sunsets and long walks on the beach.

Mahogany Obsidian is an executioner and one who is all too comfortable with her job. Older than GS Obsidian, she’s one of the highest-ranking Obsidians of her Diamond’s court and doesn’t hesitate to flaunt this fact. Vile and sadistic. No one likes her. No one.

Aurum the American Goldfinch Gryphon.

Aurum is a very playful and sweet-natured young gryphon, just slightly bigger than the average housecat and twice as soft and squishy! He’s just a constant source of positive vibes and I like to think he has Catbug’s voice to complete his childish personality.
His design takes after the American goldfinch (Spinus tristis)! He’s an old character; I hardly did anything with him and he used to be a generic golden eagle/lion sort of gryphon for years until I recently decided to put the knowledge of mashing any feline and avian together for a creative fusion into actual practice. Needless to say, but I enjoy designing gryphons and I want to revamp more of my catbird critters!

This kitsune takes great pride in his two, long tails, which are the source of his pyrokinetic prowess. His magic is far more advanced for a two-tailed kitsune, due to his possessive stroking and obsessive grooming of his tails. Or so kitsune such as himself claim.
