I was a metalhead in the 80s, so missed much of pop music at the time. But how could anyone growing up in the era have missed AM radio? And some of it was good. Sooo good.
I’m trying to figure out if metal obscured the synth-pop clouds for me, or if I’m just developing an overactive sense of nostalgia. Or maybe 80s retro simply does something the source material never did for me.
Probably doesn’t matter. I like this, a lot. Dark, driving, melodic, melancholic.
