Best SafetyCulture Alternatives for 2026

Blog post cover for SafetyCulture Alternatives article

SafetyCulture (iAuditor) is a popular solution for automating inspections and safety workflows. Possibly, the most popular nowadays. However, as organizations grow and their operations mature, they often start looking for alternatives that better meet needs around customization, scalability, or cost-effectiveness.

I’ve spent over a decade at Fluix as a Product Lead, where evaluating platforms like SafetyCulture is a core part of my role. In this article, I’ll share my honest overview of the strongest alternatives and how they compare in real-world field use (as accurately as possible at the time of the publication), including:

  • pick of the crop – Fluix (of course), Fieldwire and VelocityEHS, and others;
  • an overview of each competitor, with key features, ratings and pricing;
  • how to select the best SafetyCulture alternative and, finally;
  • how to make the switch to your chosen solution.

HOW DID I PICK THE TOP ALTERNATIVES TO SAFETYCULTURE?

Aside from my own knowledge and experience, I’ve analyzed software review sites like G2 and Capterra, along with community forums to understand strengths and weaknesses of the top iAuditor alternatives. And a clear set of criteria helped me narrow down the final list. The main ones are:

  • Mobile app. The ability to work mobile-first is non-negotiable for field teams who spend most of their day on site.
  • Offline access. This is a must-have. First, because of connectivity issues experienced in the field and, second, for reliability.
  • Real-time issue tracking. Assignments and alerts should be automated to keep the right people in the loop and in sync, even if they don’t have an account with the platform.
  • Processing and handling of data. First, the way in which data is collected and processed needs to be seamless to ensure compliance. And then you want trusted, industry-leading data security backing this up.

List of the Best SafetyCulture Alternatives

Tables make it easy to compare strengths and trade-offs side by side, so I’ll start with this comparison before diving into the details of each tool.

Fluix: Best for Inspection Management

Fluix Tasks are flowchart-based, with each step visually mapped. This way, you see how inspections move from completion to corrective actions and storage.

Not to brag, but Fluix is indeed one of the best alternatives to iAuditor. It is inspection management software for teams that need reliable, repeatable inspections in often high-risk field conditions. Fluix replaces paper documentation with flexible, role-based workflows that guide inspectors step by step, from data capture to review and approval. Inspection data then flows directly into follow-up tasks, corrective actions, and audit-ready reports.

Fluix is available on web, iOS, and Android (with some limitations on the latter at the moment) and has two core products: Docs and Tasks. As you may expect from their names, Docs is a fit for document-based processes, and Tasks is better at building a workflow around tasks.

And while I must admit SafetyCulture is a giant in the space, a quick look through Capterra will tell you that many users aren’t entirely happy with rigid pricing, unreliable syncing in offline conditions, limited reporting flexibility, and a setup experience that can feel heavier than expected.

Fluix avoids many of these pain points by giving you flexible workflows, solid offline performance, and clearer control over how inspection data turns into follow-up work.

Fluix Key Features

  • Mobile checklists and inspections
  • Mobile-first experience, with offline mode
  • Automated approvals
  • Task scheduling
  • Issue tracking and corrective actions
  • Automated notifications and alerts
  • Issue reports
  • Charts and dashboards
  • Collaboration with external users

Fluix Pricing Model

  • Basic: $20 per user/month <10 users
  • Core: $40 per user/month >10 users
  • Pro: $75 per user/month >10 users
  • Custom solutions also available

Fluix gives you offline inspections, flexible workflows, and full control over follow-ups

MaintainX: Best for Manufacturing Facilities

The Work Orders feature in MaintainX functions very much like an email inbox. Tasks are divided into To Do and Done, with a full description of the task, assigned users, related documents and more included in the work order.

MaintainX is a preference of small teams looking for a platform that’s easy to use and has basic features that can be quickly adopted. The focus is on asset, facilities and maintenance management, built around Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).

While ease of use is of course crucial, it’s also important for a platform to go further with things like customization and more granular tasks. For that reason, I think MaintainX falls short as one of the alternatives to SafetyCulture, and certainly Fluix.

MaintainX Key Ffeatures

  • Work order management
  • Preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Asset and materials management
  • Mobile access
  • Asset tracking
  • Performance analytics

MaintainX Pricing Model

  • Starting price: Free per user/month for small teams
  • Essential: $20 per user/month
  • Premium: $65 per user/month
  • Custom solutions also available

Fieldwire: Best for Construction Sites

If you’ve ever used a ‘Kanban’ system of task management then this Fieldwire project overview will look familiar. You can see outstanding and completed tasks along each step of the project journey.

Fieldwire has a reputation as the go-to platform for teams focused on construction task management. It’s effectively geared to cover each stage and role on the building site, from owners and architects through to supervisors and contractors.

But while their focus on the construction industry is strong, I think this pigeonholes Fieldwire to an extent and, for me, largely rules them out as a competitor to SafetyCulture/iAuditor for organizations coming from other industries.

Fieldwire Key Features

  • Project management
  • Task management
  • Document management
  • Inspection and issue tracking
  • Risk assessment
  • Scheduling
  • Timesheets
  • Mobile access
  • Subcontractor management

Fieldwire Pricing Model

  • Starting price: Free per user/month for small teams
  • Pro: $39 per user/month
  • Business: $64 per user/month
  • Business Plus: $89 per user/month

VelocityEHS: Best for General EHS

eBinder view with a centralized SDS library, with product listings, revision dates, CAS information, and one-click access to GHS documents and PDF safety data sheets.

Like Fieldwire, VelocityEHS is another competitor to SafetyCulture that provides a specialist solution— this time for the management of Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability programs.

If areas like industrial hygiene, chemicals, ergonomics and environment are your primary concern then VelocityEHS is a good choice but, like Fieldwire, I think this positions them in a very specific set of use cases.

VelocityEHS Key Features

  • Occupational health management
  • Risk assessment and management
  • Incident management
  • Chemical management
  • Data analysis and visualization
  • Real-time reporting
  • Environmental compliance
  • Air and water management

VelocityEHS Pricing Model

  • Quote-based

Connecteam: Best for Field Service Management

Connecteam it’s a platform geared towards staff management. Here, you can see functions like team Chat, HR & Skills section, and Knowledge Base, fit  for teams in retail, hospitality and restaurant industries.

As an alternative to SafetyCulture, Connecteam is probably one of the more niche solutions out there in my opinion. It’s focused on time tracking, management and training of field teams and many of their customers are, not surprisingly, from retail, restaurants and hospitality.

Connecteam effectively automates daily operations and HR processes to save time and increase productivity, so it has features like time clock, scheduling, instant messaging at work etc

Connecteam Key Features

  • Time management
  • Labor forecasting and scheduling
  • Attendance tracking and leave management
  • Team communication
  • Compliance management
  • Behavior monitoring
  • Third party integrations

Connecteam Pricing Model

Per ‘Hub’: Operations, Communications and HR & Skills

  • Starting price: Free for <10 users

  • Advanced: $49 per month for <30 users
  • Expert: $99 per month for <30 users

Customer Reviews

“This app works like an attendance sheet where staff punch in their login time and punch out their logout time. This feature helps us in calculating every month the total number of hours that they work. It is a great tool for managing employees in a company.” G2 review

Fulcrum: Best for GIS Data

As many tools working with digital checklists, Fulcrum has the drag and drop editor for creating new templates.

As with every industry at present, AI is making its presence felt and Fulcrum is one SafetyCulture competitor that promotes its integration with GIS and AI as a core feature. I think it’s still quite early to gauge the success or otherwise of AI, however Fulcrum claims that its integration helps improve processes and productivity.

Construction and engineering firms in particular use Fulcrum to capture crucial geographic information and turn the data into actionable tasks.

Fulcrum Key Features

  • Data capture, management and storage
  • Geocoding
  • Real-time streaming
  • GPS and time stamps
  • Third-party integrations
  • Inspection management
  • Mobile access

Fulcrum Pricing Model

  • Professional: $41 per user/month
  • Elite: $52 per user/month
  • Enterprise: Contact Fulcrum

Customer Reviews

“I like Fulcrum because it allows me to capture, review, edit, and transfer data seamlessly during asset inspections. The ease of use and overall functionality of the application stand out to me. I also enjoy being able to export the data and overlap it with an existing map.” G2 review

HOW TO PICK THE BEST SAFETYCULTURE ALTERNATIVE FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION

My recommendations above will give you a decent head start. However, there’s still the matter of narrowing down the options among all of the iAuditor competitors.

Once you’ve selected one or more of the platforms that look most suitable, I’d suggest properly scrutinizing them against your specific needs. Try these steps:

  1. Define the most crucial features for your organization.
For me, this is about considering things like the usability of interfaces and dashboards, external integrations, security, and the ability to customize.
  1. Find out about the onboarding process
You can have the best-rated solution on the market but if it’s a struggle to understand or use then it won’t be of much use. For this reason I think onboarding is critical. Find out how comprehensive it is. And is there ongoing training?
  2. Will it scale with your organization?
I see this a lot with Fluix, as we are often adopted to tackle a specific business problem and then rolled out into other areas, such is the depth and flexibility of the platform. Does your solution do this? Will it help you grow as you eliminate pain points and free up your time for more important tasks?
  3. Thoroughly assess your budget and understand pricing structures.
Free plans are enticing but often come with limitations on features or number of users. While there are a lot of similarities between the iAuditor alternatives I’ve listed above, make sure you analyze exactly what’s offered with each pricing tier.
  4. Make sure customer support and training options are top notch.
I can’t stress this enough. How accessible and available is customer support? Are there tutorials, and community forums? If you require assistance at any stage of the adoption and onboarding process will there be someone on hand to help.

HOW TO MAKE THE SWITCH FROM SAFETYCULTURE TO YOUR SOLUTION OF CHOICE

Most of us break out in a sweat at the thought of transferring data to a new phone (I know I do), so the prospect of switching your company to another organizational system can obviously be a little daunting.

There are, however, a number of steps I can recommend to make the switch as seamless as possible.

First, you should clearly identify the pain points you want to address and solve. This will make the onboarding process much more targeted and help you assess outcomes and effectiveness. Additionally, I would suggest:

  • Defining what success looks like for your organization. What are the results you’re aiming to hit?
  • Taking the opportunity to assess your IT infrastructure and everything is up to date
  • Identifying users in the organization and members of the implementation team, including supervisors and decision makers
  • Ensuring you have a process in place to collect feedback during pilot testing

Gathering information like this, in the case of the onboarding process we have at Fluix, will set you up for a successful switch.

During the process, you’ll be partnered with a Customer Success Manager, Solutions Architect and Support Team who will guide you through integration with your existing tools, automation and set-up optimization, training, and address any requests or questions you have.
