Is it possible to stop automatically using items from my craft bag and use inventory instead. I have had eso+ for yrs and for the next while I wont but want to use what I get in my inventory instead of the craft bag

No, there's no way to change it, the game will always take materials from your craft bag first and only use ones in the inventory once the craft bag is empty.

It won't use ones in the bank or storage chests at all, you'll need to put them in your inventory (or the craft bag) to use them, but that can also be a way to avoid using things by accident.

It’s designed exactly so that you can’t do this. The game always prioritizes the craft bag as a source so you progressively lose the benefit of it, as you’re not paying for it anymore. The resulting increase in pressure on your inventory drives up the appeal of subbing again to relieve it.

If the goal is to keep your inventory clear, you can store things in chests (as suggested above), sell mats as you get them, or outright destroy them. I think there’s a few add-ons that can be set to destroy/junk/vendor crafting mats.

while i don't have a sub, when i get decent items to sell (columbine, dreugh wax, platinum, etc), i will pull out just enough from the craft bag to make a good stack to sell (most mats you can sell as a full stack of 200. things like dreugh and columbine, not so much) and list them on the trader. the stuff that isn't worth selling, i vendor

absolute speculation here and no guarantee... but i have a feeling we will have a free eso+ trial coming up either jan or feb

This is one of the pain points I have with ESO. Materials should come out of inventory first, and craft bag second. ....but we all know why they didn't make it work this way. The bag is storage where what's in inventory is readily on hand, so it would make more sense to take from inventory first. Sigh.

It doesnt make sense if they want people to pay for the convenience of the craft bag.
If it wasnt for the craft bag, most people that do pay for ESO+ wouldnt continue to pay for it
