Horses Need to be Fixed

I would like to ride my many different horses or Indiriks, but they stutter step over every little thing. Makes it frustrating. All other mounts are smooth and glide over everything. Please fix the galloping mechanics.

This x1000. Horses are my favorite mount type but I always end up using a wolf mount because of the way you constantly lose speed on a horse if ground is not perfectly flat.

My giant bear came to a grinding halt the other day on encountering a pebble. Last week it was a rabbit that ran out into my path that stopped it.

I always just ride horses so I never noticed. I'm curious now to check this out later on some other types of mounts.

I disagree. Every single one of my mounts slips, stutters, stumbles and trips in the very same spots in the game. All of my toons are parked in Vivec City and every time I ride across the docks to turn in crafting dailies they ALWAYS get tripped up on that main stretch of dock by the bank. And EVERY time they cross a bridge. And those rocks between the New Life NPC in Reaper's March and the cave. And dozens of other places in the game.

I have never had a single mount NOT get tripped up.

But I would say that MOST of the time when sprinting across zones ALL mounts are smooth and glide over everything.

Now if you REALLY want to be upset about how mounts move through the world go play the MMO Rift. Even the Levitation mounts get stuck. And you CONSTANTLY get dismounted by trash that's more than 60 levels beneath you.

At least in ESO I have NEVER been dismounted by trash. Thank you ZOS!

I love that mounts can now swim, and I no longer dismount when I ride through a puddle.

I love that my mount uses a slowed-down gallop animation (or it may be a canter) when it's walking. I guess the animation team doesn't understand the difference between a walk, trot, canter and gallop.

And it's not just my horses, my senche also uses the wrong slowed-down animation when it's walking.

That jump on the bridge is a speed bump, your going over the posted speed limit.

I've been having a minor (often funny) issue when sprinting on my mount. I'll hit some random "bump" and go flying. Like the physics goes all wonky and I'll ricochet into the air and sail for a fair distance before landing like nothing happened. It's unusual, because your mount usually loses the sprint momentum as soon as the feet leave the ground, unless you time a jump. I've even had it happen rarely when on foot.

You've not experienced life until you've seen an Ursauk thrown straight up into the air, his legs flailing as he tries to run but gets nowhere, all because of a pothole.

I'm going to disagree with you. There are precisely ZERO horses, but there a lot of PONIES. I mean seriously, have you seen the size of them?!

Or how about when you're riding down stairs and you leap off to your death instead of just actually riding down them normally. Those stairs in Davon's Watch, Stonefalls... IYKYK

the trick is to aim so you fall onto the pillars on the side. it's a very short fall and then you can run normally down the rest ^.^

You are missing the fun. During New Life you can sprint with you mount, leap over the edge above the tavern, time the E key right and start dancing on the roof.

You all are detracting from a very real point OP brings up. Horses are lackluster compared to every other mount type, because of the stutter steps. It’s very very annoying.

It's both equine and bipedal-type of mounts who have this specific problem, yes :/ Even bears and camels, with their funny gait, don't have this problem.

Horses, Indrik/Elk, and Rams all have the "if I landed from a jump then I lose 80% of my speed" meanwhile cats and dogs and leggybois keep gliding with momentum.

Man, I thought I was the only one (I know, you're never the only one) who got annoyed with my indrik losing speed all the damn time, halted by a twig, a pebble, a leaf on the forest floor... Now I need to try something different and see if a wolf, cat or camel has the same problem!

Also, the speed bump at Vivec's docks is both hilarious and absurd

I'd like to ride my horses but I can't abide the horse model. Horses don't always show their teeth and their legs don't bend right. Amongst other things.
So I always ride big cats. They've likely not anatomically correct either but they're definitely better IMO.

Thought this would be about getting horses that actually look like horses. Not weird medieval painting of ponies with bad proportions.
