I disagree. Every single one of my mounts slips, stutters, stumbles and trips in the very same spots in the game. All of my toons are parked in Vivec City and every time I ride across the docks to turn in crafting dailies they ALWAYS get tripped up on that main stretch of dock by the bank. And EVERY time they cross a bridge. And those rocks between the New Life NPC in Reaper's March and the cave. And dozens of other places in the game.
I have never had a single mount NOT get tripped up.
But I would say that MOST of the time when sprinting across zones ALL mounts are smooth and glide over everything.
Now if you REALLY want to be upset about how mounts move through the world go play the MMO Rift. Even the Levitation mounts get stuck. And you CONSTANTLY get dismounted by trash that's more than 60 levels beneath you.
At least in ESO I have NEVER been dismounted by trash. Thank you ZOS!
Boy howdy did I think this was about something else! Whew.

It's unusual, because your mount usually loses the sprint momentum as soon as the feet leave the ground, unless you time a jump. I've even had it happen rarely when on foot.

You've not experienced life until you've seen an Ursauk thrown straight up into the air, his legs flailing as he tries to run but gets nowhere, all because of a pothole.
There's just too many damn horses!

Or how about when you're riding down stairs and you leap off to your death instead of just actually riding down them normally. Those stairs in Davon's Watch, Stonefalls... IYKYK

You are missing the fun. During New Life you can sprint with you mount, leap over the edge above the tavern, time the E key right and start dancing on the roof.
You all are detracting from a very real point OP brings up. Horses are lackluster compared to every other mount type, because of the stutter steps. It’s very very annoying.
You should go edit one of your posts above and make your statement true then.
Cats seem to get stuck on a twig all the time now too, not just horses
