22 Ford Explorer ST custom designed mats

I ordered some custom design mats from X1 mats for my 22' Ford Explorer ST. I was a little skeptical but when Maverick whom I was first dealing with was calling me to go over details and sending pics back and forth assured me I was dealing with a reputable company. yes the order took some time but i was in no rush. Once I received them< there was a fitment problem between the 2nd and third row. I have 2nd row captain seats which I specified in the order but the second row was made for bench seat so there was no coverage in between. when i called the back and sent pics to show this, they apologized for the mistake but assured me they would fix it. They told me to just keep the ones I have and they'd redo the 2nd and 3rd row to correct the fitment. I understand mistakes happen and they held true to their name to make it right, which they did. I was truly impressed. the second order came not long after and was done right. I really love the mats. They look awesome. the special details I requested were all done the way I asked and look great. In the end, I'm very happy with the great service and quality of this company. I should also mention that Drake helped out with getting my order corrected and was top notch in making thigs right.
would definitely deal with them again. thanks to the team at X1!

Very disappointed

I placed my order for my mats in November of 2025 and still haven't received them. Every time I call all they do is lie about my order. And they won't refund my money. So I don't advise anyone to shop with this company

Ordered in Aug its now Jan and still getting run around. Trying to get refund but being told has to go to upper management.. they keep blaming DHL
EDIT: Its now February 4th and still nothing has been done. $1000 not refunded. No emails no calls, Nothing.
This is the worst company ever to deal with.

Regarding your refund request, any cancellation or refund for a completed custom-made order must be reviewed by upper management, as outlined in our policy. This isn’t a runaround; it’s part of our internal process to ensure decisions are handled fairly and consistently.

Well after reading the 1 star reviews

Well after reading the 1 star reviews, I see a common theme with X1 which used to be F1 mats. They are running out of letters to rename themselves. I'm sure they will become Z1 mats soon. It appears they use the same excuses to every issue. Tarrif issues, shipping issues, Dubai issues. Zero accountability, and they almost never return calls or emails. I have left multiple messages as they no longer answer their phone. They even sent me the wrong color and the mats don't even come close to fitting the vehicle. I sent them photos and videos and months have gone by with no answers. I guess it's time for small claims court on this, as they seem uninterested in resolving the issue.

Yes, X1Mats was formerly known as F1Mats. This was a deliberate rebrand that took place as we expanded our product line beyond floor mats, adding premium interior accessories such as seat covers and additional customization options. The rebrand reflects growth, not instability. We’ve been in continuous operation since April 2019, serving customers worldwide for nearly 7 years.

Regarding communication, our records show that we have remained actively in contact with you throughout this process. While there can occasionally be a 1–2 business day delay due to volume or time zones, we do not ignore customers or avoid follow-ups.

On the color issue:

1. The color you originally selected became temporarily out of stock, and this was communicated to you.

2. We discussed alternatives while waiting for restock.

3. Unfortunately, a factory-side fulfillment error resulted in the wrong color being shipped, something that was not intended for your order.

Once you informed us, we took responsibility immediately and confirmed that a replacement in your preferred color would be produced, and as soon as you approve the custom design, we will share with you soon. That replacement is being custom-manufactured specifically for your vehicle, which will also resolve the fitment concerns you mentioned.

This is not a case of “zero accountability.” A mistake occurred, it was acknowledged, and a corrective solution was put into motion. That is accountability.

Delays related to custom manufacturing, international logistics, or government regulations are not excuses, they are realities of producing premium, made-to-order products rather than mass-produced items. What matters is how a company responds when something goes wrong, and in this case, we responded with transparency and action.

We remain available to you and fully intend to complete the replacement as discussed.

Lack of Communication - Still have not received order placed in Aug

Hi, sharing for awareness. Do not order from this company. At first, I thought they were decent. I ordered mats for my Audi in 8/16/24 and am still waiting. I have been in contact with representatives since October regarding my order. I spoke with a manager on Friday who lied and said the order would be updated this past Saturday. I have a tracking number that was created and has not moved since 12/5. The company said that DHL has the mats. But when I called DHL support number, they stated that they had not received the product from the company. This company is not truthful! Horrible communication about the order. No movement on tracking since 12/5 is overseas.

First, this was not a lack of communication. Our team has been in contact with you since October, including a direct conversation with a manager. At no point were updates ignored or withheld.

Your order, like all X1Mats products, is custom-made to order. During this period, we experienced an unforeseen surge in order volume, which extended production timelines. This was communicated to you.

Regarding shipping:

1. Your order was completed and handed over for shipment, and a tracking number was created on 12/5.

2. The delay you’re seeing is not from X1Mats, but from DHL’s international logistics process.

3. The DHL representative you contacted was from the destination-side support, not the origin hub, which is why they could not yet see movement. This distinction was explained to you.

4. DHL did collect the shipment; the delay occurred during their international transit process, something we do not control.

It is incorrect to state that we were “not truthful.” Once a shipment is transferred to the carrier, timing and scan updates are fully dependent on the carrier, not the seller.

It is important to note that your order has since been successfully delivered. The delay was logistical in nature and outside of our control once the shipment was with the carrier.

This was also your third order with X1Mats, which clearly reflects prior trust in our products and service. Delays are never intentional, and we do not benefit from them in any way.

X1Mats has been operating for over 6 years, delivering premium, custom-made mats worldwide. While international logistics can occasionally experience delays, our commitment to transparency, communication, and quality remains unchanged.

Your order was delivered within the expected timeframe, and when you raised concerns about the 2nd and 3rd row mats, our team reviewed the photos and videos you provided. Based on that review, the mats themselves were manufactured correctly for your vehicle. This same configuration has been produced for this model many times without fitment issues.

What we identified was an installation issue, not a manufacturing defect. Our mats are designed to replace the factory carpet, not sit on top of it. We advised removing the original carpet and making the necessary adjustments for proper installation, and we also provided guidance on how to do this correctly. Unfortunately, those steps were not followed, which led to the appearance of a fitment problem.

For this reason, the concern did not qualify for a refund or replacement under our warranty policy, which applies to verified manufacturing defects, not installation-related issues.

X1Mats has been producing custom-made mats for over 6 years, and proper installation is essential to achieving the precise fit our products are designed for. We understand how frustrating this can be, but it’s important to distinguish between a product defect and an installation requirement.

Very friendly experience

About a year ago I ordered floor mats for my slingshot. The customer service was very good and I received them within a month and they fit perfectly. I decided to order a few more items for my slingshot and they called me to verify my order. I picked standard shipping and it was $42 but when I was checking out it doubled to $84. I asked about it and they stated it was $42 per item. But the person on the phone told me they can put both items in the same box and change the shipping to express shipping so I can get it within a week. They are very friendly and helpful.

Top of the line and best customer service

Don't buy from X1 mats if you are looking for a good buying experience.
I waited 3 months on my back mat for a Slingshot. Once it finally arrived, it did not fit. I was told that a warranty "ticket" was opened but now they won't even respond. Im assuming that they have no intention on making this right, so I will try to open a dispute case with my payment source.
Its really a shame that companies treat people like this. No accountability whatsoever. I hope your business fails miserably.

Customer Centered Company!

My Son had ordered mats from this company and highly recommended them to me. I have ordered car/truck mats before from another brand previously and was mostly satisfied with them, however, this company provided some things that the other brand did not and that was customization, customer support and customer satisfaction! My Son was right…X1 Mats are made with high quality and offer customized professionally made mats. They offer multiple options for customized mats that hold up under extreme weather conditions! Even when we took the vehicle to the beach, the sand that we would have spent hours vacuuming out was easily brushed out with these mats. The colors, stitching and logo options are too numerous to mention. I get compliments on my mats from everyone who sees them. When I ordered the back set for my truck, I accidentally chose the wrong cab size. Realizing my mistake, I contacted the company and spoke to Maverick, who assured me he would check into it and make it right…that kind of customer service and satisfaction is hard to come by these days…especially when it was the customers fault. I will be ordering all of my mats from X1 Mats for years to come!!

Well worth the wait!

Well worth the wait! These mats look amazing and really took my interior to the next level! The quality can not be overstated. They fit like a glove and cover every section of my stock carpets. When you order custom made parts from a good company, a short wait is to be expected. Customer service was fantastic. No Support

I initially ordered a set of mats in July of 2024. They arrived a few weeks later. The 2 front mats did not fit the car. I immediately reached out to the company and they were initially responsive. I took detailed pictures showing the problems.
They said they would make me new front mats.
I checked in periodically and got non-answers about mix ups in production.
My last inquiry was in May of 25. I just contacted them again. We'll see if anything happens. I expect nothing and now I'm out roughly $500. Save your money, order elsewhere.

My go to company!

Alright! A few months back i found out that x1mats or f1mats as previously known before, also makes seat covers. I saved up and bought a set maybe 3 or 4 weeks ago. They arrived last week and I had em installed today on my yukon and boy do they fit nice and a glove fit as advertised! They totally match the floor mats i got from them last time and they do not disappoint.

I don’t know why all these haters are giving this company a negative review, they are the only ones by far providing the best quality and price out there. Surely it takes some time to arrive, you all gotta understand that THESE ARE ALL CUSTOM MADE, they don’t just magically appear from thin air. And because of that orange man! Don’t blame companies that are doing their best, its our own administration sticking us from behind.

To anyone thinking of going for x1, don’t listen to the haters, they have so much free time to ruin others.

I will keep coming back to x1 mats for all my interior needs. I just sure hope they offer more than just floor mats and seat covers

Shocking service or they have gone bust

Edit following response from X1Mats.
1. The website did not specify additional time needed when ordering and you still failed to meet the extended delivery deadline with no explanation and no response to my emails.
2. No, you have not refunded the expedited freight as you claim below despite agreeing to do so. Therefore your claim that it was refunded immediately is a lie!
3. No, throughout the process your team did not remain responsive. Other than the notification of the initial delay there was literally ZERO response to emails and calls until after I posted this review and after I had claimed a refund from the bank for failure to deliver. Another bare faced lie!
4. Arrogant and patronising response regarding the time of day I made phone calls. I work with Americans daily and well aware of the time difference. I advised you that I called at 9:30am your local time in Delaware which is after your published opening time.
5. It is also noted that you only responded AFTER I had made the refund request via my bank and after I had left this review and after I had notified you of such.
Totally unacceptable service and totally unacceptable response here. Even more reason not to use X1Mats. If only I could give zero stars!

Ordered 8th August and paid extra for expedited delivery in order to receive them by the 20th August. X1 called on the 11th August to advise it was not possible and that they would be shipped in 35 working days giving a shipping date of 22nd September. I accepted that and X1 agreed to refund the charge for expedited freight. Since the 22nd September I have sent numerous emails asking for an update, all have been ignored. No answer on the phone either.
I also see that reviews here have not been responded to since mid September either. All this leads me to believe that this was either a scam or the company has gone out of business and i am left with no choice but to recover the payment made from my credit card.

However, your specific model required additional development and fitment work to ensure the mats met our exact standards for precision and quality. This process takes longer than standard left-hand drive production, which is why our team advised a 35-working-day timeline. You accepted this adjusted schedule, and we also refunded the expedited shipping fee immediately after confirming the update.

Throughout the process, our team remained responsive via email. The only calls we missed were those made outside our operating hours, as you are located in the UK while our customer service operates on U.S. time.

Once you decided to initiate a refund request through your bank, we respected your decision and allowed the process to move forward from your end.

To clarify, X1Mats is not a scam and has not gone out of business. We’ve been proudly operating for over 5 years, producing premium, custom-made mats for customers worldwide.
