hi!! i wanted to ask abt ur minecraft dolls if u had a pattern that u either give out or sold? they look so awesome!!!

hi!!! the patterns are pretty much just me following the minecraft skins with some artistic interpretation mixed in sdjfjdsj. In the small ones, one pixel is one single crochet stitch, in the mediun sized ones i converted one pixel to a 2x2 square of stitches, and in the huge goodtimeswithscar that i made, one pixel was 3x3 single crochet stitches. I make all faces of the skins as individial panels (squares and rectangles) and stitch the panels together afterwards. One tip is to leave really long tails of ur yarn and to not weave them in cause u can use them to sew it together later :D

I also make youchewb videos about them!! I’ll link this one but there are a handful more on my channel :)

(I also sell commissions of them sometimes- they’re not technically open rn, but will be soon!)

hihiii! sorry i’m here to be so annoying with questions, but with your crochet dolls, do you have any pictures of the poseable tones vs the non poseable ones? just like what the ones with wore can do compared to the others, tysm <3

Oh!! thanks for asking! :D (Not annoying at all! ^_^)

So far, all the small dolls that I’ve made have been poseable, so I don’t actually have any examples of non-poseable ones yet, but they’d be sewn together in the same way as the dolls of bigger sizes (i.e. at the highest edge of the arms and the body, and along the front edge of the legs, so they can sit) They’d be floppier than their poseable counterparts - but more squishable!

The two poseables I’ve made so far are Mumbo and Grian

The posable dolls can be articulated at the joints of the arms and legs (the connecting point of the limbs can actually twist and rotate) and you can bend the limbs themselves like elbows and knees :) The torso can be bent too, and the head can be positioned somewhat

Honestly, you can get some fun nuances in expression from time to time (though the below photos are helped by lighting lol)

So, if you’re looking at the commissions and would like one that you can pose and gesture (and maybe take more elaborate photos of/put in Situations), the poseable ones are great for that! and if you want an extra-squishable little guy to hold, and don’t particularly care about the posing, then you could get a non-poseable doll :D

(and in case anyone reading this is curious- my commission info is here!)

mumbo jumbo & tommyinnit

bad news guys i’m learning japanese again and i just got to the word ‘renai’, which means romance. and like, to get a word to stick, i sometimes need to come up with an association between the sound of the word and its meaning, using things i already have in my brain. so i look at the word renai. i see ren. i see ai (means love in japanese)

so i think now the japanese word for 'romance’ is, in my mind, forever gonna be associated with Ren “ladies get in line” diggity Dog.
