hmm.. i'm not sure, there seems to be people trying to segregate those from the furry community and those from... other places. there was an incident with a user tagging anything he deemed as 'furry' (which i am totally against random people being able to change my tags) and there was a fight on the forums about the whole tagging business..
not to mention the people who made the site advertised it as fa's replacement, but now they're claiming they don't want to be furry-centric. seems kind of ass backwards to me, but the community is really nice there aside from all of that bs. =u=
It's actually supposed to be a "general social art community", not just for furries, although I would say furry/anthro artists and fans comprise the majority of the population right now. Functionally, it's superior to FA and far less profit-driven than dA (though there's no guarantee that'll stay the case after it's no longer in beta).
The community so far is pretty open and welcoming mostly because time hasn't passed enough for solid cliques to form, so here's hoping it'll stay like that for the most part.
you're an angel.
it's still somewhat.. not.. inactive, i'm unsure of the word.. but it is a great site so yes go and get

In general, it's pretty decent so far.
