We have big news to share with you!
Since our founding in 2000, Midwest FurFest has always been on the weekend before Thanksgiving. It was a good, reliable date, didn’t conflict with other conventions, and suited our hotels as well. We stuck with this weekend from the (late, lamented) Sheraton Arlington Park, to the Hyatt Regency Woodfield (R.I.P. koi pond), to the Westin North Shore (the less said, the better), to our newest home, the Hyatt Regency O’Hare.
When we moved to the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, we thought we had it all – huge amounts of space, and what seemed a lot of hotel rooms. But then we grew larger, and larger....

I'm not really a fan of the reschedule myself. The previous one work well for me because of its proximity to Thanksgiving, but this one is kind of farther off. My attendance will be questionable.

With this date, I don't have a chance to attend MFF this year, my company don't gives me vacation at this time and it looks like 2015 it is the same...

I have mixed feelings about the date change. I feel especially horrid for those in school because I know finals are that week. im really surprised they didn't try to go with an October or fall date? seems like they could have had they really wanted...? :X they say they don't want anything that interferes with other con dates, but what about finals week? that's a big thing, you'd think they would've thought hard about that especially since a lot of furs are in college... >3>;;;;

They said on twitter that they had tried to do earlier or even into October and that this was the most available weekend.

The Hotel. They tried to pick weekends where the con wouldn't be conflicting with other events at the convention centre.

humms well not too sure if this will be good or not. also makes for even colder and less enjoyable weather and riskier driving conditions around that time of year to get there.

I was planning on attending the car show for 2014 in conjunction to MWFF - and will probably decide on my attendance based on how many of my favorite fursuiters will be participating. The train was a nice way to get to the con but I am pretty sure I'll have the Trans Am put back together and running for 2014. That mightve been a nice way to get there.

oh man this is not gonna work for me, those dates are in the heart of the most busiest and expensive time of the year for the holidays
