Technology and Emeraldshire (G)
So a word on technology and Emeraldshire, Charlottes home world.
There is no electricity, no cars, very little in the way of even using fire. They don’t have clothing either.
The main reason for this is, a lot of human invention came about to replicate things animals had such as the ability to keep warm with their own fur, or fire to cook food they could not eat raw. The animals of Emeraldshire don’t have that problem, they have fur to keep them warm, they can easily sleep outside but most have their own small huts and dens for sleeping and keeping their stuff. They can see at night because their eyes have the reflective material that humans lack. Also the lack of industry makes the moon and stars shine brightly. They can eat raw meat with no problem as their stomachs match those of their feral equivalents.
They aren’t completely without invention, they do have some tools made from bronz and iron, they have glass for helping people see. They have ink and writing paper, they also have basic books as well. Art, music, and sculpture are a thing here too. They very much build around nature vs trying to conquer it the way humans do.
Humans would call them primitive for sure, but it’s not all bad. They’re still intelligent sentient creatures with a wide range of emotions, language, hopes and dreams. They do have more of their animal instincts than humans do however
