The Xatu blinks at them for a moment but does not seem to be taking any sort of defensive action.

“I have no reason to do anything untoward,” the Xatu says after a moment. “However, bickering amongst yourselves is not likely to have a beneficial result, especially since the two of you seem to have such a disparate interpretation of the same set of events. Until this can be reconciled, aggression cannot be ended. That said, that is not the reason I am here. I would request that the two of you follow me. My master has something to discuss with you,” they say, nodding towards Michael. “I can guarantee that we mean no harm and have no intention of ill effects. So if you would follow me.”

“Absolutely not!” Ryan says. “There is no possible way that we are going to follow someone we just met and assume we’re going to be fine walking into an ambush simply because you gave your word we’d be fine.”

The Xatu gives absolutely no response whatsoever to Ryan’s statement. And as valid as Ryan’s statement might be, Michael isn’t that paranoid and moves around to address them instead. Which isn’t that hard since Ryan is that much larger than Michael that she can simply walk under his arm, and doesn’t even really need to lower her ears that much to do so.

“Why should we follow you? If it’s a territory thing then I apologize and I’ll be gone come morning.”
