i need new underwear recommendations. hit. me. up.

mattchewpicchu

Would you like the mega list I compiled on tumblr a while back of stereotypical gay brands, or my personal recommendations of ones I’ve worn and liked?

mattchewpicchu

Okay for anyone who asked or is curious, here is the link to the sheet I made.

For reference, all ratings are on a 5 point scale with designs ranging from 1 (nothing unique) to 5 (lots of options), comfort is for a full day of wear, material is for their basic or average underwear and how comfortable it is, and avg cost is 1 point being expensive and 5 being very cheap (sales excluded). If a cell is blank it’s because I don’t know enough to rank or I don’t remember. Anything that says “no experience” is not a slam on the brand, just means I haven’t worn it enough to rate.

Also if you don’t see a brand in here, please let me know! I’m avoiding huge brands that mass make underwear not marketed to queer communities aside from Calvin Klein or Versace. However, if folks want, I can add like Hanes and Fruit of the Loom because of the kink space they maintain, or just in general. Lmk.

neurokinetics

Oh damn this sure is thorough! Thank you!

officialboredom

@mattchewpicchu where are the notes we must see? or am i being stupid because i don't use google spreads

mattchewpicchu

@neurokinetics you’re welcome! I’ve been meaning to make it for a minute anyway, so this was just the kick I needed haha

@officialboredom the notes column directly to the left of those cells

i saw someone say nobody needs to know what a .txt file is anymore. what the fuck is the world coming to

dreamsy990

unironically i think we need to bring back computer labs because APPARENTLY some people WERENT taught basic computer literacy and internet safety in school

dreamsy990

things about computers/the internet i think kids should be formally taught in schools because theyre important to know and the amount of soon to be grown adults i know who know NOTHING about any of these is quite frankly almost all of them (and resources to learn if you dont know these things, because its never to late to get better with computers)

as an additional note: things i think everyone should know on computers and the internet but schools may bit hesitant to teach about for whatever moral/legal standards schools pretend to operate on

dreamsy990

ok one last addition! if you want to take it one level higher, i think learning the very basics of at least one programming language is good for people. it makes computers less scary and it makes you feel very cool, and a lot of people get discouraged about it because it seems overly complicated and hard to learn outside a formal classroom setting, so heres some resources for learning the very basics of python (because i consider it the easiest language to learn and knowing one language will make it easier to learn others)

As more and more people are being forced to switch to Windows 11, Microsoft's most AI-malware-ridden OS yet, I've been putting together articles and links for how to undo the damage and save your battery, your RAM, your disk space, your privacy, and your sanity from this bullshit.

FIRST:

The easiest way to get rid of the majority of the bullshit that Windows is forcing on us, as of October 2025, is this one-stop-one-click debloat solution from a modern day hero:

It's very easy, even if you're not tech savvy or get scared of pop up windows saying "ARE YOU SURE?" Yes, you are sure, I promise. This program takes maybe two minutes and will save you SO MUCH pain, time, and money (and exploitation).

Now that you've done that, here's the cleanup, to catch the little shit that the debloat might have missed (most of this will already be done by debloat, but hey, it's good to double check).

Even just reading about some of these features makes me angry. Fucking Copilot and "Discover" AI scrapers are in Notepad. NOTEPAD. And then there's this uncanny valley garbage:

Copilot+ PCs have a feature called Windows Studio Effects, which is also available on some earlier AI PCs. It can perform real-time visual effects on your webcam image to make your skin look smoother and even fake eye contact so it appears you’re always looking at the camera.ALT

No uncanny valley video calls for me, thanks! (Also, what else is it doing while it scans your face and listens to your calls? What else, microsoft? Because there was a lot of memory being assigned to this program for a simple "smooths your skin" add on).

The truly insane number of places they have stuck ads on your own home computer is sickening. Become Unmarketable.

Bonus:

Some background programs you probably don't need that are taking up space and how to remove them (Microsoft forums, 2024)

Your Samsung Galaxy Phone comes with 22 apps you don't need (Android Police, 2025)

How to disable the AI in firefox (still the only browser that lets you do this permanently) (Windows Report, 2025)

If you are on a Windows 11 computer, pause everything you are doing for one minute and:

  1. Open computer settings
  2. Click on Accessibility on the left-hand menu
  3. Scroll down the Accessibility menu and click on the Keyboard Option
  4. Under the "related settings" tab, click "Typing" which should have a description of "spellcheck, autocorrect, text suggestions."
  5. Turn off the AI "correct misspelled words"
  6. and most importantly: turn off Typing Insights.
image

[ID: a screenshot of the above mentioned Windows 11 settings, showing that Typing Insights is now turned off, with the following description from Microsoft:

"Windows is using artificial intelligence to help you type
To help you save time and type efficiently, Windows can learn to suggest words, autocorrect spelling mistakes, and interpret swiped typing. Take a look at the insights below to see up-to-the-minute stats on how Windows has learned to improve typing for you. These stats are stored only on this device and Microsoft does not collect the typing insights data."

End ID]

"But Mx. November, it says right there Microsoft doesn't collect the typing insights data!"

I mean, yeah, it says that..... for *now.*

It also only specifies that Microsoft themselves don't collect it, and they wouldn't have made this something that I was automatically, secretly opted in for without my knowledge if they didn't have something to be gained by me not knowing it exists!

I only found this because a cat walked on the keyboard and turned on Filter Keys and while trying to figure out why my keyboard was just making chirping noises instead of typing, I happened to click on "typing insights" by accident.

Generative AI, and especially AI that is used to "personalize" and track your activity across the web and on your computer are never going to be in your best interest, it is always going to serve these companies in whatever way will line their pockets the most, and all it takes is updating their terms of service once, and then all of that data they promised they weren't collecting suddenly all belongs to them.

Leans over

Oh no this Linux Mint installation guide just fell out of my bag

Oh no all you need is a USB and the ability to follow a simple set of directions intended for beginners

And never have to fight Windows' deliberately hostile settings again

Oh nooooo

novella-november

* a spare USB stick you don't mind wiping clean of existing files (important note for those who are not tech-savvy)

thank you for the guide lol, I actually literally just started this process the other day, and am going to be booting it up for the first time later tonight to see how it goes !
