Hot take, but I think this is what Vincent would wear as a Tsviet.
It’s obviously modeled off Rebirth Galian—down to the pattern on his chest being modified from the metal embedded into Galian's—but it’s just got major DeepGround vibes, particularly Nero and postcanon Genesis.
Although I gotta add that his little field model looks staggeringly like Grimoire from behind. Vincent why do you look like your dad.
The paw boots are a lot more obvious in the little field model too. Cute.
Vincent Valentine is still Just A Little Guy 🤏
Since I accepted the challenge immediately and beat him on my first try, I didn’t know that Vincent has more dialogue related to his Queen’s Blood match, but I’ve recently been trawling extracted Rebirth dialogue and god I love him so much.
If Cloud turns down the match:
“No shame in a tactical retreat. It’s a better strategy than charging ahead recklessly.”
If Cloud loses:
“The card remains with me until you can prove you’re worthy.” (first loss)
“Diverting, if nothing else.” (second loss)
“I’d hoped for a better match than that.” (third loss)
If Cloud wins after one loss:
“You’ve a well-balanced deck, I see. Color me impressed.”
If Cloud wins after multiple losses:
“Nicely done. I take this to mean you’ve been practicing?”
That last one is really doing something for me, man. Vincent being dry but polite while complimenting Cloud on his improvement. He’s perfect and I love him.
After having ff7 rebirth for… a very long time… I only finally got to the part where you meet Vincent. Why did nobody tell me that Cloud makes googly eyes at him when they first meet? And stare longingly after him when he returns to his chamber? Man’s got I bad.
Oh yeah he is INTENSELY interested. The way he delicately runs his fingers over the coffin? The immediate desu eyes? I was not joking when I was posting about how Strifentine Is Real in Rebirth. That isn’t even all of it, either! Don’t skip the Queen’s Blood questline, and make sure to go back for Vincent’s sidequest in the Manor! The whole game is an experience.
