I have been using Wayland (Ubuntu/Gnome) for many years on a laptop with an LCD screen and never had issues with controlling the backlight without this software. This software is only intended for displays that do not have a backlight, like OLED. For LCD displays, it is really not recommended to use this software. Especially on a laptop, backlight will consume full power and drain your battery. |
