question about eax / hrtf audio

Are you planning to integrate EAX / hrtf audio (perhaps with dsoal) , or patching .exe with xdelta? I am trying to get hardware audio to work, maybe it can be a nice addition to enhanced sc.

The SplinterCell.exe included with Enhanced SC v1.2a is already patched so that EAX works with both GOG and Ubisoft Connect. You just have to install DSOAL or ALchemy yourself. I personally haven't included DSOAL by default because I don't think this game has the best EAX support, but it's up to personal preference.

In future versions, we won’t be including a modified .exe. Instead, the patch will be applied in memory so that no original game files are replaced. We also might have an external launcher to configure some settings before the game boots in the future, maybe a DSOAL/ALchemy tick could be added in the future.

Please do consider it, even if the support isn't supremely good maybe it can make for a slightly better experience.
Trying to get it to work, I see poeple saying you need to put it in the "system" folder, other say it provokes bugs, I set it up but not even sure if it's working as I can't get a "debug" kind of log right now.

If we can make it an easy toggle, we'll likely add it in the future. I didn't have any issues with DSOAL last time I tried, the most common issue was occasional audio pops that caused the sound to cut out.

You need to place the DSOAL files in the same folder as SplinterCell.exe. So, the System folder is the correct location. I don’t think there's any other way to do it.
