is there anything holding this PR from getting merged?

Yes, it's going to be a custom add-on. Like your Legend State Add-on. So folks will be able to do something like:

pnpx create-tsrouter-app@latest add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/TanStack/create-tsrouter-app/refs/heads/alpha/examples/legend-state-add-on/add-on.json

And add it to their project. We can work on the size of the URL. It will be better out of alpha, and I'll do some github remapping.

Basically I'm trying to limit the number of "first party add-ons" to just what we have and the essentials.
