Describe your change:

Update radix_sort.py with a separate flatten_extend() function to increase performance, readability and modularity.

  • Add an algorithm?
  • Fix a bug or typo in an existing algorithm?
  • Add or change doctests? -- Note: Please avoid changing both code and tests in a single pull request.

  • Improve existing algorithm

Let's keep both radix_sort() and radix_sort_optimized() in this file and please add a timeit benchmark that proves the enhanced performance of the latter.
