Sorry, I don't know. I am interested in using this without Docker too.

Sorry for late response. In the next few weeks I'll try to refresh this project a bit and hopefully I'll create a step-by-step tutorial how to use it without docker. Stay tuned!

I figured out how to use it without docker described here, running successfully on ubuntu 16.04.
