Once I've enabled this feature in the config, any call to my controller outside the API was also affected.
And that's ok, because it's stated so in the documentation :)

But, could you give an example - how can I notify from the controller, that this particular page, for example, should not be cached. How can I generate the ETags from my controller methods.

And how this thing works in general, I think the article in the wiki would be good.

You mean to say that requests that are not hitting the API are being cached when you don't want them too? This may not be desired actually, as that configuration option should only be affecting API requests and not every other request.

I've double checked it today and could not confirm that the Etag is added to any of requests (if those are not within the API).

But, could you share some knowledge how that Etag is calculated, e.g. how the API knows if the content was updated or not. Is that just a hash from the response?

How could the developer force the cache illumination and are there any cases when we should do that?

I met the issue one more time today.

1. I've the test controller, defined outside the API configuraiton.

1. I've defined the method there:

    public function getRestable() {

            }))->with('userQuest.userMissions.userMechanics')->where('id', 1)->get();
            return Restable::unauthorized()->render();
    }

1. Calling this method in the browser, I've received the ETag, while I should not.
2. After I've updated the dingo/api/config:

  'conditional_request' => false,

I've stopped to receive the ETags from that controller.
