As we refine the lexicon of the charter, I would like to propose thinking about a way to evaluate the translated versions of site content (i.e. the charter). The goal of the evaluation would be to quantify the difference in perceived meaning between the origin text and some translation. Among a number of things, this would allow us to be transparent to readers about potential ambiguities (i.e. highlight words in translated text where potential ambiguity is detected). Likewise, scoring could be used during the pull request process to quantitatively assess if a change decreases the difference in perceived meaning between texts.

I am not familiar enough with natural language processing metrics to provide any suggestions, I just wanted to suggest that we think about how to reduce ambiguity between translations.
