Log and visualize API errors

The browser will log request errors to the console if the console is open. Same thing with the network tab — only works if it's open. But regular logs should stick around in there whether the console is open or not. So for debugging, it would be helpful to log API errors when they happen. It might also be nice to extend the time it takes error toasts to disappear.

I'm also picturing something we put in sessionStorage where we track error responses and add a global function to pretty print the contents.

OOOOORRRRR we could have a secret /debug page that shows that log. No dev tools required.
