Ai deleted my new album from all streaming services because I had a bump in listeners that seemed suspicious to the algorithm. That bump came from a full month of homemade self-promoting, advertising, music videos, and genuine effort that I will never get back. It was up for a month, collecting streams from friends, family, longtime and new listeners alike and I was so flattered and excited to be sharing with you all! And now I’m back to Bandcamp. I’m not very popular on Tumblr anymore so I don’t expect many people to see this but if you’d like to support my music and listen to my new album, head over to scoutthewise.bandcamp.com/album/problems and let me know if you like it, I’m dying to know! Let this be another example of why ai harms artists. The money I make from online purchases of my music will go towards me making hard copies to encourage us all to leave the digital AI age behind and jump back into a world of personability and connection. Music distributors should not be using Ai, this shit is crazy.
I just heard Jill Sobule died and it’s hitting pretty hard. I didn’t even keep up with her over the years, but I used to listen to her self titled album a ton when I was in high school. I think most people know her for I Kissed a Girl and Supermodel but here are a couple other songs I really liked. The whole album is good though. It kind of feels like a bunch of short stories or character studies. Anyway RIP Jill.
