"After listening to the audiobook version the first book, I was excited to read #2. And... Sigh. I'm already over the stupidity of the sabotage plot, and B) the love triangle.

Like, if Marguerite reeeally wanted to, she could avoid the sabotage. She could bring each parent into her confidence, help them make a data backup, "sabotage" the real data, and done!

Also, the fate thing is very sigh. That is all."

“Tonight
Since I'd forgotten for a moment where you are,
I search for you with hope in my bones.”
Hester Knibbe

Neil Gaiman
“I tended to do anything as long as it felt like an adventure, and to stop when it felt like work. Which meant that life did not feel like work.”
Neil Gaiman

Ben H. Winters
“Because as any writer will tell you, an IDEA for a book is like falling in love, it’s all wild emotion and headlong rush, but the ACTUAL ACT of writing a book is like building a relationship: it is joyous, slow, fragile, frustrating, exhilarating, painstaking, exhausting, worth it.”
Ben H. Winters, The Last Policeman

Vivian Vande Velde
“The wolf sniffed beneath the door to be sure this was a human cottage. The scent was undeniable. No pigs, except in bacon form. The wolf thought bacon form was a very sensible way for pigs to behave.”
Vivian Vande Velde, Cloaked in Red

Frances Hardinge
“At one o’clock, the ever-logical Right-Eye Grand Steward woke up to discover that during his sleep his left-eyed counterpart had executed three of his advisors for treason, ordered the creation of a new carp pool and banned limericks. Worse still, no progress had been made in tracking down the Kleptomancer, and of the two people believed to be his accomplices, both had been released from prison and one had been appointed food taster. Right-Eye was not amused. He had known for centuries that he could trust nobody but himself. Now he was seriously starting to wonder about himself.”
Frances Hardinge, A Face Like Glass
