Headcanon of the day (which is probably an old take but I’m new round here ;) )
I was reading an excellent analysis of the Cap but I disagreed with a couple of things (or at least only partly agreed).

I don’t think the only reason Cap said he’d stay in his military uniform is because he only wants to see himself that way and that it’s a disguise.

I mean yes, that is a big part of it. He also hates change. But back in perfect Day he was very interested in the clothes that the guests were wearing and specifically commented on people not knowing how to wear ties and the gold trousers suit. He’s interested in event planning, but also I can see him being super into interior decorations and fashion.

It seems the old Lady Button didn’t have a tv (since Pat had to tell The Captain what one was and Cap seemed blown away by the concept of watching tanks on a screen). It’s also likely that very few people came to the house, considering the state it was in. So it’s only after Mike and Alison arrive that Cap is exposed to lots of people wearing fabulous clothes. (even if there was a tv I suspect old Lady B didn’t watch programmes he was interested in anyway) He even says in Perfect Day ‘if it makes her feel fabulous then (unintelligible Cap noises)’. He is all for self expression through clothing.

So, my head canon is that he had in mind a number of things he’d seen that he’d like to wear (not necessarily a gold trouser suit but something a lot more obviously his true self) but he couldn’t tell them. It would be tantamount to coming out if he admitted he wanted to wear anything other than his uniform and he is NOT ready for that.

Submitting my midwifery applications tomorrow. Really really hoping to get into at least one of the programs but I’ve got my backups if I don’t, so it’ll all be okay either way!!

I don’t really have thoughts today because i got some sleep and literally my entire brain collapsed out of total relief but i do keep thinking about how much less it hurts to exist inside my own head lately. last year was very hard for me in that respect but i think i am starting to figure out where to put the feelings if i don’t wanna just seal them up in writing or throw them at people and run away

What’s the origin of your blog name? ifer is just a nickname I use and I made it a pun on the phrase all-seeing eye. bc if you couldn’t tell from my icon and various interests I really love eye imagery

What’s your ‘I will always order this’ food? oooo I’m not sure if I really have one? it really depends on what kind of cuisine I’m getting and even then I do like to try out different things. I guess any kind of noodle soup is a go-to for me - can never go wrong with that!

What’s your current comfort show/book/movie?

Show: I feel like I have to say Buffy - it’s just so endlessly rewatchable to me

Book: Ikd if I really have a comfort book? I tend not to reread books much tbh. A book I’ve really enjoyed lately was of course Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata - I’m not gonna yap too much about it bc I feel like I’ve brought it up so many times in these end of year asks lol, but it was such a great read

Film: The 2019 Little Women ofc. I mean “comfort” is maybe the wrong word bc idk if you can tell from last time I went crazy about it but it does inspire truly insane emotions in me. But it’s certainly my favourite films and it brings me a lot of catharsis and I’ve watched it probably about 15 times since it came out? Aroace guy loves media about women dealing with the pressure to get married, what a shocker

Song you’ve had on repeat this week? I’ve kinda just been hopping around listening to a few different songs recently. I have been listening to a lot of like. 90s/early 2000s girlband music lately thanks to the bbc girlbands forever documentary, especially scandalous by mis-teeq

What’s the last thing you hyperfixated on? I mean the buffyverse remains my main special interest. 3 years and counting everyone give it up for 3 years and counting…. ummmm trying to think of more recent things that have made me go a bit crazy. torchwood has been doing some insane things to my brain but mostly just season 2 episode 5 adam. make of that what you will

What’s an oddly specific thing that brings you joy? my puzzles #mypuzzles. I love doing sudokus I love doing the daily nyt puzzles I love. doctor who 2048 if we can count that. OH AND SPORCLE QUIZZES I LOVE THOSE THINGS

What smell instantly makes you happy? weirdly enough the smell of chlorine! always reminds me of going to the swimming pool in the summer ^_^

What’s something you loved as a kid that you secretely love now? well you see the thing is I don’t love a whole lot of things very secretly. I still love cuddly toys and stuff like that I guess, even if none of the ones I have are the same ones I had as a kid anymore

Are you a morning person, night owl, or something else entirely? definitely more of a night owl. if it weren’t for being employed and also currently wanting to be able to see the sun i would be getting up at 11am every day

If you work, what is your work profession? And do you like it? I was a teaching assistant and I’m hoping to continue being one for a while providing another school takes pity on me and decides to employ me. and I do like it! much as I had a lot of issues at the last school I worked at they were all very much the fault of higher ups (or specific coworkers who pissed me off LOL) - I really like being a TA and working with kids! it’s not what I necessarily wanna be doing super long term but I do kinda wanna teach art in the future so it’s good experience innit

What’s the origin of your blog name?

I wanted to name myself after Anne of Green Gables, I genuinely have no idea where the wonderland part came from. I mean I use it on tumblr because I was already using it on Discord and AO3 and I don’t like changing my username so I’m kinda stuck with it even though I now find it kinda cringe

I’m naturally a night owl but I try to fight it because mandatory 8am lectures are a thing I very cleverly signed up for

If you work, what is your work profession? And do you like it?

Currently working a temporary retail job (toy store) and I cannot say No emphatically enough. I used to have a part-time teaching job but it was horribly underpaid. I don’t really want a real job while I’m still in uni, I hate missing lectures.
