Hamilton East Public Library celebrates the 1 in 4 Hoosiers who have a disability, and encourages all patrons to engage in stories that push the boundaries of their understanding. We’ve provided some titles below to get you started on your journey.

Valentine’s season is the perfect time to celebrate stories that make our hearts race, swoon, and dream. From timeless historical tales to trending subgenres like romantasy and sci-fi love stories, romance fiction offers something for every reader.

The 2026 HEPL Seed Library will open with select varieties on February 9 and fully open on March 9. We are so excited to share this year’s collection with you!

Teen writers can submit an original, historical fiction/fantasy short story for HEPL’s 10th Teen Writing Challenge!

From an underutilized outdoor space to a thriving hub of curiosity and color, the Sand Creek Elementary School (SCE) garden has become a living example of what can grow through collaboration and community support, in partnership with the HEPL Seed Library.

Explore our mixed media program offerings this quarter at Ignite Studio! This year, we’re focusing on the combination of one or more mediums used to create artwork.

Ignite Studio is seeking 10 artists to compete in the second annual Fishers Make-Off on Saturday, March 21. Selected artists will compete to make an original piece of art related to Ignite equipment, kits, or other in-house materials to highlight the creative possibilities involved in making.

Stephen “Steve” Roberts was born in Roberts Settlement to Stephen and Mary Roberts. His grandfather Willis had been one of the first emigrants to the Settlement in the 1830s.
