AI Governance, Safety, and Ethics Bootcamp

Overview

Date: April 1, 2024
Time: 11:55 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. EDT
Location: Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor

Over the last 12 months, through numerous conversations with our state members and with our program planning advisory board, it is clear that state teams have an urgent need to inform and benchmark their AI governance, safety, and ethics strategies, as part of their overall HHS transformation and modernization plans. State HIT Connect will be hosting a one-day Bootcamp for state AI taskforce members to hear from Federal agencies, state peers, and their vendor partners, in a collaborative learning environment.

State teams have learned a lot during the pandemic in terms of operational and systems responsiveness to policy demands, and in many cases, unlocking the potential of data sharing and improved service coordination for members across HHS stakeholder groups.

At the same time, federal initiatives around modularity, interoperability, and outcomes-based transformation are accelerating the modernization of infrastructure and data services in order to deliver the same citizen-centric services in a more scalable and hopefully cost-effective way.

"I really enjoyed my experience at the HIT Conference. I think the conference is extremely well coordinated. They do a really good job of putting together a well-thought-out program. This year, I participated in two panels. The preparation coordination, the almost 'concierge management' really helped me feel well prepared and confident going into those two panels."
