still wondering whether or not Beth was the only one who knew Rick was living all alone. The fact Rick confided in her about that is soooo glossed over in s3
I rewatched some eps with a friend last night and once again I am thinking about 2x03 and the way Rick just wordlessly pulls Beth back from confronting The Shade. It’s the way he’s got his super strength but is deliberately being gentle enough to force her to halt in her tracks while also not hurting her. It’s the way he’s constantly got an eye on her in this episode and knows she’s been slipping in and out of this foul mood. It’s why he’s observing her all day, and of course Rick is the last one to be judging people’s bad attitudes, but it’s so odd for him to see a sentiment so familiar to him on her that he’s softened to butter by the end of the episode. He’d been so concerned that when she then tells him she thinks her parents are divorcing he’s shocked. From what they went through you can tell he thought they would be having a discussion on revenge and blood thirst or whatever since she’d been pouring such agitation over the broken goggles and justice for Charles with The Shade’s appearance.
