“Ugh!” Alice groaned. “What is it?” Cheshire asked. “Well I fell into a small stream wile killing the menacing ruin and now I’m all wet!” Alice complained to her very best friend. Alice suddenly felt Cheshire’s hot breath on her neck and shivered ( though she was instantly warmer). All the sudden the ground rumbled and at least 10 slithering ruin came up out of the ground. “Time to shine.” Cheshire whispered. As Alice got up and fought,Cheshire had to admire is Madwoman. Her skill and gracefulness were beautiful and flawless! Although he was rather angry at the slug-like creatures, though his smile would deceive, for ruining his….well you could call it a confession. Alice had finished and was walking back towards him with a little more of a bounce in her step. He decided now or never and pulled he in for a hug. “Chesh? What’s wrong?” She asked, beginning to get a little worried. Cheshire had been acting weird all day…sort of distant. “Alice, I-“ Cheshire stopped for he couldn’t find the words to say. This was rather new to him for he always seemed to have the right words to say. She looked up at him and stroked his cheek only to find heself melting in the arms and lips of her best friend. “ Oh Alice, I love you.”

“I cannot believe you dragged me to this.” I stated wondering why I gave in to her. “Clary is my best friend and Simon is my boyfriend so of course I had to be here!” Isabelle says like it’s obvious. “But why am I here?” I asked as we took our seats in our schools theater. Clary and Simon were performing in our school’s talent showcase. Isabelle turned to face me “Oh please, I know you’ve been crushing on Clary since we were kids. I hope her little dance number and outfit will give you the balls to ask her out, but if you make fun of her I will kill you because it took me forever to convince her to were it!” That last statement caught my attention and made my mind wander to places it shouldn’t be. “I’m Jace Wayland! I don’t crush” I said although I had been crushing on Clary, big time. I had been lost in my thoughts during the other performances until I heard “Next up Clarrisa Fray and Simon Lewis performing Romeo and Cinderella!” Clary came on wearing a long red sweater with a white button up shirt and a black tie under it. She had an extremely short red plaid skirt and knee high socks with some black boots on. Her hair cascaded down her just the way I like it- WHOA where that come from!? As I watched her dance she became an infinite person, separate from our world. Simon on the other hand just looked gay. Once the dance was over they bowed and left the stage. Isabelle stood up and cheered until they left. “Jace come on! You can ogle her up close, we’re gonna go congratulate them.” As we got nearer to them I could see Clary talking to a boy. My hands curled into fists when I saw it was Sebastian Verlac staring at Clary like she was disgusting. I saw her look at the ground and nod sadly before running over to Izzy, Simon, and I. “ what’s wrong?” asked Izzy asked noting she looked rather sad. “Oh! Um, he said no… “Clary said looking towards the ground. Izzy rushed to her side saying “oh sweetheart! Don’t feel bad! He’s just a player who doesn’t deserve you!” The stupid bastard doesn’t know what he’s missing. I noticed everyone looking at me like I had two heads….OH SIT! Did I say that out loud? “What?” I said in a (hopefully) innocent voice. “Um Jace can I talk to you over here?” Izzy asked dragging me aside.” What are you doing?” “What you said to do” Izzy started stuttering “But I- You can’t ju- Just don’t hurt her.” She said with a sigh. As we returned Clary and Simon were on their way out. “Hey Simon can I talk to you for a sec!?” Izzy shouted leaving Clary and I alone. I chanced a glance at Clary and saw her shivering violently. “Here.” I said handing her my jacket. She put it on with a blush keeping into her cheeks. “Thank you.” she whispered, her lips looking so full and inviting. “Clary would you like to go to the fair with me tomorrow?” She looked up at me with surprise apparent on her face.I’d love it she said quietly yet with a genuine smile on her face.
