The Media Demon: Speedrun Time! (Part 1)
[Note: This is part 3 to the chain of Media Demon AU posts that I am writing with inspiration and idea originating from @that-hazbin and this will be chapter based on all the shit Alastor does to speedrun into becoming an Overlord that I can think of. And only a part of it will continue until, give or take, Alastor meets the disguised Royal Family in an outing.]
1933
Alastor starts things by gathering ingredients and deciding that this time, rather than relying on Soul Contracts, he will rely more on what his Maman taught him when she was still alive and what he practices and uses even in the original timeline. For the entire year, he spent his time preparing and consolidating more and more power. With his memories and knowledge of the future, he was able to gather the needed ingredients and have the proper rituals done by more or less at the end of the year.
1934 - 1935
During this time, Alastor practiced his powers and got good at them, and I mean good, he also never once stopped gathering ingredients and amassing more and more knowledge and spreading his shadows across Pentagram City. One of the new things he found out he could do, use the shadows of the people against them, the largest information network that will continue to grow. It is exhausting to maintain 24/7, as that means he hears everything they do, and that is both sensory and information overload. While he has shadows stationed on every demon in Pentagram City, he rarely ever uses them unless needed. The blackmail will always be useful. This is also when Alastor started to gather information surrounding the Overlords that need to go, ones that he needed to execute with Angelic Steel. Carmilla Carmine, Zestiel and Rosie are the ones he knows may stay.
1936 - 1937
All the annoyances are either double dead or they no longer have any power or influence as an Overlord; Alastor made sure of it. The ones that were able to escape aren't high on his 'Must Murder' list, but they are not allowed to be around as they will only be a detriment to his plans. Rosie, Zestiel and Carmilla are the only Overlords remaining, they are the ones he can tolerate and ally himself with.
During his 'first' meeting with them in this timeline at least, they were shocked at how fast he rose to power and how high his current power levels are. Even during the previous timeline he wasn't this powerful, this fast. With some discussions and his plans when it comes to hell, he once more left them speechless because his plans make sense, why have none of them ever thought of that. A deal and an alliance were made that very night.
1938 - 1940
Alastor had found Sir Pentious, who is now working under him, with Carmilla helping oversee Sir Pentious. And the rest of the past Overlords are all double dead after a bit of hunting from him. Sir Pentious is being funded and backed by 4 Overlords to give Pentagram City a makeover, with his machinery ideas, Carmilla's factory and his ideas of modern and ancient architecture Pentagram City is getting it's ass remodeled. It will take time, but with the backing of 4 Overlords and Alastor taking over the media, all media, they now control the public's perception.
Alastor all but taunted them, turning their pride against them. Telling the demons living in Pentagram City how drool the architecture here is and how there isn't a hint of culture here. For him, shockingly, no one has tried to spray paint their ways, their culture onto the walls or tear down those walls so that everyone can see what they take pride in. And then he gave them something to strive for, especially with the exterminations and the royals no longer caring, he played their pride and made them want more, to make themselves the best and to make themselves better than Heaven.
1941 - 1945
Alastor continued to hire more people under him and has had multiple meetings with Carmilla, Zestiel and Rosie about temporary safe contracts. Which they approved of as not only will it be much safer, but that means they will have more underlings. After some insight from Carmilla on how the safe space in the contract clause cannot be the demon's house, as domestic abuse is very much possible.
After some brainstorming, technological and magical experimentations, space-expanded apartments unable to be accessed by anyone other than the demon that signed the safe contract unless said demon gives their explicit permission, and these safe houses/apartments can be used as bunkers during exterminations as well, they realised this when they moved onto the topic of angelic metal medical research which Carmilla will lead.
1946 - 1950
Zestiel had decided to lead the more humanitarian efforts, aka introducing new sinners to hell, and its history. He decided he wanted to be in charge of the education of all the youngins that never got the chance to learn for one reason or another. Rosie decided to be in charge of fashion and food as she knows not all denizens of hell are cannibals. So far, about a third of Pentagram City has been updated, no thanks to the exterminations, with all the modernization of the 21st century that he has brought/remembered with him. Everyone is living a much more fulfilled life, as everyone is allowed to enter the media, so long as their ideas are good enough. From music, to news, to stories, to everything!
Schools have been built in hell, and anyone is allowed to learn there for free. Knowledge is meant to be shared after all. Rosie had made several restaurant chains from vegan, meaning 0 meat; regular, meaning 50/50 between meat and vegetables; carni, meaning 100% meat; and canibal, meaning human/demon meat. Hospitals have been built, but with how diverse every demon is, some generalization was needed, and those that were vets when they were alive were considered the most prominent in this growth of medicine. Hospitals are more focused on angelic metal/holy wounds rather than normal ones, and both tech and magic are used within the hospital. Nifty found him.
1951 - 1955
Alastor has never been so fucking thankful for both magic and technology, because he knows for a fact that if even either of them did not exist in hell shit would've taken even longer to improve hell. He made Nifty the leader of an organization focused on cleaning up Pentagram City, whether it be normal trash that sometimes falls or the aftermath of exterminations. Ever since things began looking up about 5 to 8 years ago he had begun treating exterminations like a natural disaster. Full on using his influence over all media to broadcast the unstable and dangerous parts of Pentagram City in the aftermath, the missing denizens that haven't been found and the death count of those who have been found, but dead by angelic steel.
There have been talks and discussions with Carmilla, Zestiel and Rosie on the possibility of some sort of home defense system that only activates during exterminations, but currently it is still under testing, and with how things are progressing, there is already a lot on everyone's plate. Vox had shown himself and tried to get into the media industry, the TV-oriented one anyway. He was successful once only; his script was good at first, but when he tried to submit the same script, with little to no changes unaccepted. He is so proud of his trained editors and beta readers.
This was also when he started a TV series about how a hellborn and a sinner fell in love, got married, and even had a family. He knows this will become popular soon. This will have quite a few episodes. He needs to curb the discrimination fast. He has also begun thinking of pride parades, but rather than just being about ones sexuality he was thinking the parade will be more about what someone is proud of, whether it be their talents in all manner of ways and about themselves they feel better in a dress or pants or who they are attracted too. Anything and everything they are proud of can be shown during the parade.
1956 - 1960
Alastor discussed the idea of the parade to Carmilla, Rosie and Zestiel. This year, they gained another Overlord! Zeezi was welcomed with open arms and had interesting insights and suggestions on everything they have built so far which Alastor took with stride and accepted her suggestions which will help him improve, he also encouraged her to go with parties, music and dancing as her specialty when asked wouldn't that be stepping on his toes. He laughed and told everyone needs a little competition to grow. Zeezi grinned at this and accepted the challenge.
Two thirds of Pentagram City is complete with the renovations, again no thanks to the golden blind twat and his army of yes-women. The schools have become more popular, the restaurants are slowly but surely expanding and finally less unemployment across Pentagram City. The research on angelic metal has only blossomed and the hospitals have gotten interesting. There have been whispers of a black market in something. Alastor hasn't looked too deeply into it, he had been too busy with other things.

Imagine Charlie gets that tour in heaven and.. Isn't really all that impressed.
Somehow she convinces Emily to take a tour of hell, Sera and Adam agree because they want to see/spy on why their exterminations aren't as effective as before. So as Charlie and Emily have a week of exploring and partying in hell, the Heavenly Council is scrying their activities the whole time.
It isn't what they expected, between Angel Dust explaining the Safety & Consent Contracts, Alastor dragging the duo out on a multicultural day of musical hyperfixation, Vox explaining his failed attempts to make it big in entertainment, Velvette animatedly talking up the individual sectors separate cultural fashions and foods. Alastor definitely heard about Charlie's first adventure in heaven in the previous timeline and he can't resist a little oneupsmanship so Hell definitely has a petting zoo dedicated to tamed Hellscape animals. They meet Sir Pentious The Architect overseeing the reconstruction of a few devastated areas that 'that one uncouth uncultured golden pigeon Exorcist who wouldn't know good architecture from a mud hut keeps levelling' and who is undecided between rebuilding using a Russian Theme or South African theme because he's done too much Roman architecture lately and if he has to carve one more marble pillar he is going to cry.
Maybe they run into one of the other Overlord's like Camilla who offers a tour to the visiting ambassador of her own district's musical instrument repair and medical facilities dedicated to removing angelic steel contamination from demons, amongst them, child sinners still in recovery from angelic steel wounds caused on extermination day.
There is uproar in Heaven upon seeing actual children in Hell, even more so when they look up their files and learn they're in hell on a technicality.
And then they learn that Charlie Morningstar's redemption project isn't facing problems about recruiting sinners because they don't believe redemption is possible, but because the Exorcists actions have soured any belief that Heaven is any better than Hell.
Really, if the Exorcists stayed out of Hell and never returned, Hell would happily just go about it's business as if Heaven didn't exist at all.
Alastor probably isn't the only demon with Pocket Dimensions like his Bayou in terms of providing space for overpopulation issues.
While I don't think Heaven would do a tour of Hell specifically because they can just spy on them whenever they want without having to go in person, I absolutely LOVE the idea of Alastor purposely showing off how great Hell is. Alastor worked so damn hard to make Hell beautiful and worth loving, that Charlie probably WOULDN'T be as impressed with Heaven as she was in the previous timeline.
In fact, she might find Heaven a bit... ugly, actually. Heaven's all whites and pastels, everything looking entirely modern, clean to a clinical degree, kind of quiet, and it's just not very appealing to her. In fact, it's both blinding and sort of boring. Meanwhile, Charlie's used to a Hell full of jewel colors, fairy lights, street performers, murals on the side of buildings, and a whole TON of cultural diversity at every corner. Sure, Heaven has petting zoos and rainbow sprinkles, but uh... So does Hell. Does Heaven have paintball parks? Escape rooms? Laser tag? What about rage rooms, those are super popular in Hell, and they're pretty fun! Sometimes you just gotta break things to let off stress. How do people burn stress up here?
Heaven kind of leans towards anti-chaos, while the Hell that Alastor built embraces the chaos. I imagine the Heavenly Counsel or whatever they're called would be taken aback by this new version of Hell, as well as the sinner behind the change. Sinners are not just modeling the same behavior most have on Earth, they're living exponentially better lives than before.
Hell is meant to be a place of suffering, and yet it's basically become a place of rehabilitation itself, and the evidence of its effectiveness is everywhere. The fact that sinners are willingly selling their souls, expecting safety and human respect, and then getting that safety and human respect, is absolutely insane. People are actually kind to one another, work exploitation is basically non-existent in the entertainment industry, everything is bathed in artistry, from the streets, the buildings, and even the people themselves.
I think Charlie presenting her case in this timeline is going to go very differently from the previous one, because for one, she's not going to struggle with her talking points at all. Alastor had an impact on her upbringing and she knows exactly how to present her case in a way that forces her audience to listen, whether they'd like it or not.
For another, the sinner she'll choose to represent the possibility of redemption probably isn't going to be Angel Dust. It's going to be Alastor, despite the fact that he doesn't want to be in Heaven. Because in her eyes, he is by far the prime example of a redeemed sinner.
And Alastor, knowing from the previous timeline that the Heavenly Council is going to be spying on hell during Charlie's trip, is going to put on a Performance. He brings Angel along with him to the hospital, having a casual and Totally Not Planned conversation about how they can improve the soul contracts to make everybody feel safer. They pass through beautiful city streets, a park, a petting zoo, briefly stop by to talk with Pentious about his new project, the whole works. Take the scenic route to the hospital, making sure to show off just how beautiful the Pride Ring has become.
He visits the children's ward, because he's going to make this Hurt, and he and Angel distribute donated toys, blankets, and books. Makes sure to mention how "the angels killed this one's parents" to Angel, just to make DAMN SURE the exterminations are revealed. He knows he's changed things so he has to take extra measures just to be sure.
Sera is left floundering as the room devolves into Chaos, and Charlie, upon realizing the exterminations weren't public knowledge, smells blood in the water so she sinks her teeth in like a shark. Yeah, why do you think she's here? You've been killing children, and as you can SEE, Hell's doing FANTASTIC without Heaven's interference so she wouldn't even BE HERE if it weren't for the YEARLY GENOCIDE. You know, the crime that sends mortal souls down to Hell to begin with? And now you're trying to tell her redemption isn't possible BECAUSE you want to continue committing yearly genocide, is that what she's hearing?
Charlie's still a bleeding heart, but she's much more inclined to manipulation in this timeline because Alastor made sure to teach her that manipulation in itself isn't mean or evil, especially when you wield it as a weapon or shield to protect others. And she's going to manipulate the rising emotions of this room to her advantage and make them SEE her point. She's going to win this trial by a landslide.

AU/fic idea where Alastor and Lucifer get drunk together, and Lucifer gets just downright pitiful when drunk. Like, "woe is me" drunk, does NOT shut up about his problems and acts like the world is out to get him, specifically. Luckily for him, when ALASTOR is drunk, he gets weirdly helpful and sweet. Somehow this translates to them getting wasted together pretty often, because, well, their drunk selves get along pretty great and they'd rather be drunk than sober during Charlie's mandatory "I'm going to lock you two in a room until you GET ALONG" appointments.
At one point, drunk Lucifer is recalling how unfair his punishment is with how he can't hurt sinners at all, it's ridiculous how such a stipulation is tied to the throne— and drunk Alastor, ever the helpful, friendly little guy, perks up like oh? Oh, that punishment is tied to being the King?
And Lucifer's like yeah, yeah, what was the exact wording... "The king of hell shalt never be capable of inflicting terror and pain upon his formerly human subjects" or some shit.
So Alastor's neat solution is this;
Don't be the king of hell then. Make some deal where you can give the throne to someone else, if temporarily, when you need to smite someone. Easy, right? It's not like your power COMES from being the king of hell, that's just raw angelic power right?
And Lucifer is like. DAMN UR RIGHT! DO ME A FAVOR AND BE KING FOR LIKE 48 HOURS OKAY?
And Alastor, again being the helpful little drunk, is like yeah sure! Just 48 hours right? Deal! :) Oh but take me with you when you go smite the Vees though I wanna watch the show!
They both wake up the next morning hungover and beyond horrified.

I've been thinking about the fact that of the two fallen Angels we see, Lucifer and Vaggie, neither really 'fell' - they were PUSHED. I.E, they were forced out. So what if there was an angel who wasn't forced out, but left of their own free will - and what if it was Alastor? If we go by Heaven thinking that yearly genocide is not just fine but GOOD, and the headcanon that Alastor chose his victims among rapists and child abusers and racists and so one like the butcher from the comic, what if when Alastor died he went to heaven, because heaven considered him killing those people not just not a sin, but a GOOD THING? Alastor thinks this is nonsense. He thinks heaven is awful and dull. So he says hi to his mother, maybe gives her a radio or something so they can keep in touch, and then goes down to hell. It's why he was so powerful as a newly born demon - he was actually an angel in disguise. Imagine when he's fighting Adam and his Microphone breaks - and so he just breaks out the wings and holy blasts Adam right back in his smug face.
Adam: What?
Vox: WHAT?
Lucifer: WHAT?!!!!!
(And imagine an appleradio relationship happening and Lucifer getting to be with another angel. Mutual wing preening! Alastor facing the fact that while he's a very powerful angel, Lucifer was the most powerful of the Seraphim, and still outclasses him! Alastor ending up moaning face down on a bed with his wings spread and his tail up, presenting for demon form Lucifer...)

Summary:
What if the Scream Rain was a relatively recent phenomenon in Hell and is actually environmental contamination from the people Alastor traps in the airwaves?! The Seraphim, Lucifer and Charlie demand the release of the trapped souls when the screaming begins to infest Heaven’s Airwaves. Except the people in the airwaves are in the airwaves for good reason…

When i saw that one of the stories you had planned was set during the eden era it's had my mind in a choke hold
Just imagining Alastor waking up naked in Eden laying against the tree of knowledge only able to access his voodoo and shadow magic since the realm he calls home doesn't exist yet.
He pulls on what's binding him to this new place to gauge the damage Charlie caused with the botched spell she cast while borrowing Lucifers magic. The last word he heard was Charlie begging him and the king to get along.
As Alastor wraps his shadows around himself as makeshift clothes he comes to terms that the only way he has a chance of returning to the timeline he came from is forging a relationship with the man that would one day be the Devil.
Problem
The Future King doesn't yet have the physical markers they bore in Hell and he, annoyingly has an identical twin. The only physical difference between them are their halos. Choosing the wrong one could trap him here permanently. Disinterest in Heaven and those that run it certainly found a way to come back and bite him in the ass.
The Archangel twins are not able to spend all their time by his side as they have their own duties, so to not go mad with boredom he starts teaching Adam and Lilith life skills. Manners, crafting, foraging and how to take the edible plants you foraged to cook delicious meals.
How much longer is this going to take!!!

When the Tree of Knowledge made itself an Avatar it made everyone in Heaven panic. A wingless being with deer like features, antlers black as night and soft but vibrant red hair the same shade as the fruit carried upon the tree's branches.
Thoroughly convinced that this is a good sign Sam(Lucifer) drags Micheal down to meet the new being. It seems to be proven true when upon meeting them, the being gently cups both their faces while introducing themselves as Alastor.
Following the Twins own introduction the Deer like creature gently rubbed their nose across the top of twins heads (Lucifer smelled like apples and sulfur back in hell but the twins smell only of sunshine).
Before anyone can do anything more Sera and her lackeys drag the Twins back to Heaven to participate in court room discussions over how this new unknown factor will affect the plans the Angels have for Earth and Humanity as a whole.
Granted Sera's arguments about how this Deer is a ill-omen falls flat the more the Humans of Eden flourish under Alastor's care and guidance.
They can't wait for the next time they have a free moment so they can visit eden and their deer.
Wow this actually do look interesting! I think you should make this into a fic! My idea of the eden arc is kind of different in a way cause i like to think of heaven a lil bit more closely related to chinese imperial system so i would play a lot of politics and the fic will consist a lot of ocs 😂 will as minor characs just to keep the plot going

I think Alastor wouldn’t have shadow or voodoo magic because it’s very early Earth so that magic’s source wouldn’t have been created yet. I’m just guessing how that works.
Also how about this interpretation of this AU: Alastor wakes up in Eden bereft of any magic or powers. He still has his deer features so he still look otherworldly.
Alastor appeared sometime after the Tree of Knowledge was placed. Lilith had already rejected Adam and Eve existed.
When Alastor met Adam and Eve when he first manifested under the Tree of Knowledge, he was so surprised that he didn’t immediately maul Adam.
Future Adam was a chauvinistic manchild but the Adam he meets is nothing like that.
Sure Adam was under the impression that his wishes supersedes others but it was in a silly simple minded manner. Like a child being told a certain behaviour was okay. He was very obedient to what he was told his purpose was that he didn’t realize how pushy he was.
To the independent Lilith, it was annoying and offensive.
Eve, on the hand, was pretty similar to Adam as she was also obedient so there hasn’t been friction between them yet. But this cannot go on, at least to Alastor.
Until he can find his way back home, he can try to correct Adam’s behaviour and empower Eve.
He’ll leave Lilith alone as she already had Past Lucifer according to Charlie’s book.
And so, Alastor raised and guided both Adam and Eve, and taught them many future things such as cooking, singing, and dancing.
Adam became less abrasive and more considerate. Alastor actually grows fond of him especially after the former tried to cook for him.
Eve became more assertive and firm. Often sharing her opinions and voicing her likes and dislikes.
Overall, things were progressing well and everything was peaceful. Until the angels finally noticed an unknown deer-like figure in Eden.
Sera and the other angels panicked, and immediately arrived in a hurry when the intruder left the humans.
They asked who the intruder was and what happened.
From what they could gather, the intruder’s name was Alastor and he came from the Tree of Knowledge. He knew many things and even taught them.
This left the angels in a tizzy. A creature born from the Tree of Knowledge when it should only bear fruits?! Impossible!
When Alastor came back, he found a bunch of arguing angels and his humans sitting on the ground confused.
