Ian is the best trader and mentor I know. He has a clear and structured way of looking at the markets and excellent risk management. The way he explains things just clicked for me, it’s straightforward and easy to understand. I joined the 1 to 1 mentorship program and I'm already seeing consistent results, can’t wait to keep learning from him!

Good good good

I’m currently about two-thirds of the way through the Private Mentorship with CPP Trading, and I have to say, it’s been a fantastic experience so far. Ian’s approach really stands out — everything is taught step by step, in a clear and structured way that actually makes sense.

I’ve learned so much, not just about the technical side of trading, but also about proper risk management and understanding my own trading psychology. Ian has a calm and patient way of teaching, which makes it easy to follow along and build confidence as you go.

I’m genuinely happy I joined this program. It’s given me a solid foundation and a much clearer path forward. If you’re serious about trading and want proper guidance, I can truly recommend this mentorship.

I found Ian and CPP Trading more or less by accident. I had had some experience with stocks, but was new to forex. Ian is not only experienced and well educated, but he has a very calm and supportive demeanor, guiding me into the forex world with smarts and patience. First and foremost Ian is a true gentleman and it is a pleasure to work with him.

I have been trying to trade since the start of 2024. I had completed a trading course previously which came with indicators and training videos, however I had only managed a 10% gain by May this year. At this point I felt that the amount of hours I had put into it wasn't providing a great return, so I hunted around for an alternative training provider.

I looked up mentorships online and stumbled across CPP trading. After arranging a call with Ian and discussing my journey along with his mentorship, I decided to sign up.

Admittedly, I felt a little deflated when I joined after my experience with the previous course. However, Ian has slowly given me the belief that I can become a consistent trader.

Each week we have 2 one hour sessions where Ian discusses different trading concepts. He covers all topics from strategy to risk management and emotions e.t.c. The mentorship is not like a fixed training course, Ian has focused on my needs e.g helping me create a trading plan which fits around my lifestyle.

There are no indicators on the chart and the analysis is all based around price action. The concepts that Ian teaches are straight forward and are easy to understand.

I am currently almost half way through my mentorship and I'm already taking trades. One of the most important and valuable parts of the mentorship is being able to discuss the trades I've taken and asking questions. The responses I receive from Ian are logical and make total sense. I no longer need to second guess or try to figure things out for myself.

From what I have experienced so far, I would definitely recommend Ian's mentorship. I wanted to find a smarter way to trade and I feel like I am definitely in the right place now. Ian is someone who genuinely seems to care about my success.

UPDATE 7th September 2025

I have now come to the end of my 3 month mentorship with Ian and I’m incredibly happy with the progression I’ve made. I have a solid understanding of the concepts Ian has taught me and my results are now becoming consistent. My goal is to become a proprietary trader on Ian’s trading desk and I will now start another 3 months with him to cover more advanced concepts.

Ian has been a great mentor, he’s a great person to work with and I’m hopeful we can turn knowledge into a longer term working relationship.

Ian’s mentorship has been incredibly valuable for my development as a trader. Since my first contact with Forex, I had struggled to become consistent. Now, after just a few weeks with his guidance, I’m steadily improving and getting closer to consistent profitability.

His teaching method is fantastic—even though I’m Brazilian and not fluent in English, I’ve been able to understand all the concepts and strategies he teaches. His mentorship covers everything, from technical strategies to building a personalized trade plan tailored to your profile.

Here is my review of my experience with CPP trading. I signed up for the 12-week coaching program, and so far, I have just finished Session 3 with Ian.

He is very knowledgeable and considerate. He is willing to go the extra mile, and his approach is individualized. I asked him if he would be okay to review the notes I take after each session, and he agreed to that.

We have been covering the basics of forex trading, and I'm looking forward to learning more about what he has to offer!

***UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW***

I've now completed my 3 month mentorship with Ian from CPP Trading. Ian has taken me from being a complete novice with no knowledge at all to being comfortable and reasonably confident in being able to analyse charts and recognise patterns and behaviours in the markets. He continues to explain each concept with great clarity and patience.

I'm so happy with the progress I've made that I have booked a second 3 month mentorship which has just started.

I'm confident that I'll achieve my trading goals with Ian as a mentor.

I have done maybe 10 or more trading courses in the past, been in groups and mentored, but still something was missing and no objective strategy... until I found Ian. He is different. I will come back with a more detailed review later, as I need to complete the mentoring, but it is worth a try to see for yourself I think, thanks.

I have had Ian as a mentor for a while and would not choose anyone else, he is attentive and simplifies what seems to be a complex industry, he doesn’t make you feel like you are part of a corporate training that is their business to make money from trading students, you feel like you have your own personal industry expert at hand !

I have been with CPP Trading for a few months now and completed the 3-months mentorship programme with Ian.
I have gone from a complete beginner who knew absolutely nothing about intraday trading to a confident and profitable trader with decent returns on a personal 50k account.
The material and lessons are well structured and logical, taking you through the basics and onto more advanced techniques. Learning to trade takes time- it’s a bit like learning to speak a new language- and so patience, dedication and discipline are required but I have progressed a lot faster than expected thanks to Ian.

If you are serious about starting trading and sticking with it I can’t recommend CPP Trading enough.

I would like to give an update of my so far with CPP. I'm now coming up to 4 months in with CPP and specifically Ian and can't thank him enough for everything he has done so far. He has improved my trading tremendously and has moved me from struggling to breakeven to my longest run of green weeks. I still have red days but thanks to everything he's taught me on risk management I'm able to cut losses very quickly so it only takes 1 good trade to be back in profit again. He has a wealth of knowledge, not just on price action, psychology and risk management but on the journey to becoming full time trader. On top of all this, he is just a really good bloke and goes out of his way to help you.

This is going to be a long review that YOU NEED TO READ because I’ve had many sessions with Ian over several months so there is obviously lots I can speak about. I hope this review can help you but, most importantly I want to write this review about my experience as being a woman in the world of trading which some might say is more of a man's world, in hopes of helping anyone, whether man or woman, shy or has anxiety, traded for 10+ years or is a complete beginner- Ian is the best most respectful and knowledgeable man I’ve ever come across and worked with and I can’t say enough good things about him! (And if you're reading this Ian THANK YOU sincerely from the bottom of my heart because as you know, you truly helped me change my life/finances around!)

So as someone who has been day-trading since 2013 and moved from Scandinavia to work for a hedgefund on Wall Street in America, I've found the experience with Ian from CPP to be the most fulfilling experience because it’s been extremely educational and transformative for my life as a full-time trader. I’ve changed and grown more over the last few months working with Ian than I have over the last decade working for other companies. These sessions have been all about ME and I really needed that, I really needed a professional to take a look at my ways of trading, to point out my rights and wrongs. I felt that my so called “friends” or co-workers who are in the same space wouldn't really help me out and when they found a secret sauce that worked for them they wouldnt share it with me or help me out when I asked for help when I was stuck in a bad cycle. My experience on Wall Street really did feel like I was living in a dog-eat-dog world -I’m just being completely honest with you.

And then there is CPP Trading- the complete opposite where Ian shares everything with me, tells me things I need to be aware of and what I have to work on, and his mentality is truly pure and non-toxic(which I cant say about my last job LOL) because he 100% believes there is enough money to go around for everyone and helping each other goes a long way. These things indicate to me that he’s the real deal. Only someone who is confident and successful would think like this.

The first aspect that struck me since my first lesson is the level of knowledge Ian has and how well he can communicate to me on a level that I can understand and is extremely respectful during my lessons. This might not apply to just anyone but as a woman in this field, I felt super comfortable and I’ve had my moments of “dumb” questions and never once did he laugh at me or made me feel stupid for asking questions. He has always been professional and respectful which I greatly appreciate!

The knowledge I had to trade for institutions was apparently not the most efficient way for me to trade with my own money and I’ve learned better ways and strategies from Ian’s price actions teachings to trade with now, and I’m very happy with the results I’ve gotten!:)

One of the most valuable takeaways from this has been the better understanding of myself and as we got more into the psychology of trading, I had to confront my own biases, fears, and mistakes I was subconsciously making. How have I for over a decade been making the same mistakes over and over again and not knowing that they are mistakes?! I am much more aware of myself and my behavoirs. This self-awareness Ian taught me is perhaps the best tool I can possess in both trading and in my personal life.

It’s been an incredible gamechanger hearing Ian’s perspectives on things. In a new way I learned alot about the market behavior and the main drivers behind prices. Ian pointed out a lot for me to reflect on and I began to recognize patterns in my decision-making process that kept costing me money.

He has been a breath of fresh air to work with and I have re-purshed the 7 session bundle a couple of times now and I will continue with that because the sessions are now my favorite thing to do and its been a joy! It’s the best feeling having my cup of coffee ready to meet Ian online and go through my trades with him -it’s my favorite time of the week!!! It’s like meeting up with a friend who has the same interest as you and is bettering you and is rooting for you and wants you to succeed! In short I would definitely describe it as getting the lessons with CPP is seriously INVESTING IN MYSELF!!!! The knowledge I now have is now mine and no one can take that from me, and that feels so good! -can you tell I have gotten confident LOL.. well in my case numbers dont lie;)

My experience was very good with Ian. I went from a total newbie to understanding a lot of concepts he taught me. I only had 5 lessons so far but will take more and love learning from Ian. I like his teaching style and how passionate he is about trading and helping.

Ian is a wonderful trading mentor. His lessons on price movement are very good. He teaches his students to understand the psychology behind price movement rather than getting the student dependent on indicators. He teaches good trading basics but at the same time he customizes the trading methodology to my own risk tolerance and preferred time frame. I appreciate his lessons on slow but steady portfolio growth as opposed to high risk get rich quick strategies. I plan to continue receiving one-on-one mentorship until I reach more advanced stages.

After working with Ian for a while, I can happily say that he helped me with all my bad trading habits and taught me what I needed to become consistent.
