Went with a friend who wanted walking boots and thought Lockwoods would have a good selection (we live in Birmingham).
He was right - from the moment we set foot in the store we knew we’d come to the right place … spacious, well-stocked, plenty of staff, ticketed queuing system for when it’s busy, great selection of footwear.
I’ve never had such thorough service, each foot measured (sitting & standing), questions about type of terrain & distance we each walk, style preferences and budget.
We both purchased boots that felt perfect as soon as we stepped into them. Our details were taken as routine after care service.
My boots were in the sale (less than half price) and there were incredible bargains to be had.
Staff were happy to keep our boots behind the counter while we went for a coffee & mooch around the town centre.
The best thing about Lockwoods are the staff - friendly, well-informed, keen to assist and share their expertise to help customers get the right product.

Excellent ski boot mods service. I have had extensive boot mods done elsewhere and bought expensive new boots and socks elsewhere due to lower leg pain and feet losing circulation. Nothing worked. Since Lockwoods did my boot mods, for the first time ever I’ve skied without pain! The fitter never made me feel like a wimp and I never got the ‘skiing hurts’ narrative thrown at me. Looking forward to the slopes this year without worry. Thank you!!

Went along to get some premium walking boots. Russell spent so much time with me as I’m a bit of an amateur with this stuff. He was very patient and went through so many possibilities, whilst also sharing his knowledge about the products and how they’d suit my requirements. I’ll definitely return when I need to. I ordered some heated insoles. When they arrived they turned out not to be what I wanted. I contacted the company asking about a return and they answered quickly and sensibly. I sent them back and I've just had a refund. I can't speak for other aspects of their business, but they pay attention to customer emails and that's more than many businesses on the Internet do these days.
