Good platform for reading and writing. The design is clean and easy to use and many article are really helpful. The paywall can be annoying sometimes, but still a good platform.

I signed up for Medium to showcase my new children's books. Fortunately, I was accepted as a verified author on their site. Six posts and no foot traffic. As I researched further, it looks as though it's always the same writers/authors that make it to the main screen. Everyone else is in the black hole. Many of the writings are nothing special and repeats itself throughout. I've tried to change up my writings to match these individuals and it's a waste of time.

I don't recommend this site if you want to promote your book. New writings should appear on the main feed page to make the playing field fair. I stopped writing here because my heartfelt material will get lost. To add, I came across posts that were porn like. These don't belong here, maybe a porn mag.

Get this fake and annoying shit off the internet 😡😡😡 And stop f#ing emailing me every 2 seconds!!!! I have turned everything off and you still f#ing email me!!!???

If you are unfortunate to have been unwillingly signed up like me, contact then and make sure your whole account gets deleted!

I must warn writers to avoid Medium . My account was suspended, on baseless malicious report, without any evidence or a fair appeal process. Faced with this dead end, I was forced to delete it, effectively erasing years of hard work and activity on this platform, because they wouldn't remove the banner on all public- facing links related to my account, alleging "violations" of their rules. This accusation, maintained even after I left the platform, all without proof or recourse.

On Medium, you risk more than losing your archive. You risk having your professional name falsely smeared by an opaque system. When combined with pretty much non-existent customer service, this creates an unacceptable environment for any serious creator.

Medium presents itself as a hub for ideas, but in practice, it operates as a bait-and-switch model wrapped in minimalist design. What appears to be a refined publishing platform is actually a complex system of paywalls, inconsistent policies, and practices that disadvantage users.

Medium’s “Trust & Safety” team apparently trusts everything… except their users. My account was suspended without a single prior warning because I allegedly violated their rules. When I asked which post or comment caused the issue, they sent a vague email pointing to something I wrote months ago. I explained it was an innocent comment and promised not to repeat it—but Medium still refused to reinstate my account.

No clear communication, no opportunity to fix anything, just an instant ban. If you like platforms where users have zero recourse, and their vague rules are enforced like a hammer, Medium is perfect. Otherwise, beware—one casual comment could get you banned permanently.

Deceptive, dodgy site that asks you to subscribe to read a story, then it turns out the story is behind a pay wall.

The website is a joke. The content is SO carefully curated you cannot actually read anything new. You get at most 10 articles on your front page and that's it. Search function is awful, and even if you find anything "interesting" it's just some 100-word essay rather than an actually valuable article. Atrocious.

But do not think for a moment they're not doing it for purpose. Their awful User Experience is based on dark patterns meant to achieve their goals of exposing more authors - at your expense!

There are better ways to gain traction and monetize, and medium will not help you.

Return policy for recalled a/csleft customers dangling as the customer was responsible for disposing at their cost. I was told to cut the cord and return so, so many times. I called for a box and never received one yet I was told to return the a/c countless times. Now I have to dispose of it at a cost to me. Never again will I buy midea and if u do buy at your own risk as their products suck in plain English

I just got banned, because my articles are about LGBTQI people, religion and politics. I used scientific proves for all my points and never intended to offend anybody by my articles. I just wanted people to know the truth about what kind of system we live in.

I'm LGBTQI person myself, but they don't care if i write something not conventional about my own group of people, especially about trans people. I think i got banned for my last article about trans people - I myself trans person! I have the right to speak up about the problems with my own folks! Even people who hate trans community have the right to speak up, as long as they don't promote physical violence and cyberbullying toward trans people. Otherwise, it's not free speech!

Their support just doesn't exist. I sent 2 emails and never got a reply. They write you only when they ban your account and maybe if you appeal. And i thing it's not people replying, but AI or some bots.

And i also want to recommend you grow your blog on another platform (especially the one that has no censorship). Because during half a year on Medium i had so few Reads and Views on my articles that it's just a joke. My record is 6 Views and 4 Reads on one single article. I'm sure you will grow much faster on any other platform.

I just wish this ABUSIVE and TOLERANT site will disappear forever, so other people like me wouldn't suffer from CENSORSHIP.

I read articles about programming and they are quite good. Not perfect, but still among the best guides I found so far.
Most of the times, the content is of high quality. Some content is paywalled but I'm still in the free tier.

Hey Guys, I hope you know such a cheating, scam companies all around the world, I had three months experience with this company, this company will ask you to buy membership first to read others articles fully and they will say you to can earn money, at once you level up your profile to withdrawal, on that time this site will suspend your account without proper evidence, be careful, once up on a time acted genuinely but now 80% persons getting suspension when they reach to withdrawal time and very bad customer service never reply to clients easily. Don't fool yourself, don't trust this site, they will show the money only via app or web you own, but you will not get it in your hands anytime.

You can't state facts or opinions the moderators dislike or they'll suspend your account. If you delete any such posts and appeal, they'll call you "hateful", claim you're still in violation without offering proof, and permanently ban you.

Be aware you'll have to contend with increasingly diminishing returns on stories with the same level of audience engagement on the off-chance they don't simply ban you.

Poor value for writers and readers alike. The readers who appreciate a deluge of "traffic lights are racist" nonsense articles aren't the same as those who can afford a subscription, which Medium might realise sometime after going under.
