Strato is pure scam and a total headache. If you love yourself and your time, please use GoDaddy or another platform.
Long story short: I had a one-year contract and I cancelled it on time. But while cancelling, Strato automatically started another Windows server contract under my account for one year without my permission. That costs €100 per month, a ridiculous price.
What’s even more crazy: when I got the email, I cancelled the service right away, but they still made it active for 1 year. So even though I cancelled it, they say I have to pay the full year for no reason and against my will.
I called Strato customer service and they were very rude. They kept hanging up the call while I was explaining the problem. One employee told me the cancellation “didn’t go through our system” and that for any cancellation you have to call customer support. That doesn’t make any sense, then why did I receive an email confirmation that the service is cancelled???
They also blocked my account so I couldn’t log in anymore. Now I’m sitting here with a €407 payment. This platform feels like a scam. They don’t let you cancel anything properly, and they automatically add new services under your name/account, so be aware. If you want to cancel, call their customer support, because cancelling in their platform apparently doesn’t work, even if you get a cancellation email.

No transparency, no accountability, and no customer support. When we tried to contact them, no one answered — not emails, not calls. Once they get your money, you simply don’t exist anymore.
This company treats customers like fools and operates with a thief-minded, irresponsible, and faceless management.
If you value your time, money, or sanity, stay far away from Stratosfeer.
Shameful behavior. Totally unprofessional. 🚫

Ordered a VPS. After 48 hours I received a full refund with 0 communication. No idea what happened and they don’t have support email address or chat options. Calling during office hours is not convenient. Will have to call in the weekend just to ask what the hell happened.

Not transparent in their services.
Changing NS record of .be domainname is not possible with them, so you are forced to work with their DNS for top level domain name. When ordering, this is never mentioned, only on one of their documentation pages in a small note somewhere.
Not too bad you would think, Strato also provides dyndns services. But for a package with dyndns, you need to pay the exorbitant amount of 48EUR per year, something that is available for free with many other service providers.
Wanted to cancel within the term if 14 days. Going to the terms, you need to send them an email or send a letter. When you go to contact form, no email address is advertised, so in other words no written notice can be given without sending an actual mail.
Pretty crude for a service that provides hosting services.
The full experience gave me a shady feeling rather than a professional service.
Edit: I have had contact with Strato in the meanwhile, and they have correctly & quickly handled the refund and transfer of domain now. The speed and clarity has exceeded my expectations. I still hope Strato takes my feedback and improves upfront communication of what you buy, but the after-sales did a great job.

Easy to create a nice wordpress site. But don't expect any response from customer service on any questions.
This company made me think I was paying 1€ a month but ended up charging me more than 100€ over a year which I could not opt out from. I have never been deceived by a company like this and am absolutely mortified.

I almost feel scammed by this company, so be very careful if you want to start working with them. They will make it very difficult to terminate your contract and will continue to charge you even after termination. Your information will be sent to a collection company that will start sending threatening emails.
Their platform is not user-friendly at all, the user experience is way below average, and their contracts are most probably purposely confusing.

We urge organizations looking for a reliable web hosting platform to exercise extreme caution with Strato Netherlands. The company recently removed cron job functionality from its hosting packages—a critical feature for any modern web application.
This significant change was made silently, with no direct communication to customers. The removal is only apparent within the control panel or mentioned in the FAQ. To make matters worse, the technical documentation misleadingly states the feature is "not yet" available, while their customer support's only recommendation was for us to "just cancel the contract."
Without the ability to schedule tasks (like automated backups, data processing, or sending newsletters), a hosting environment is severely limited. It is unsuitable for anything beyond a simple, static website.
As a result, our prior time and development investment in this platform has been rendered useless. For any application requiring more than basic HTTP hosting, we strongly recommend investing in a professional cloud supplier. It will prove to be a much more stable and reliable foundation for your business.
