The worst company I have been with. They make charges all the time for no reason. You top-up your account and your credit will be consumed before your next payment even though you recharge the double of needed. Don't waste your money with this company. This has happened at least 3 months in a row

They suddenly eat them and say surprise! You don’t have credit now top up. Then I top-up, but they say again top-up without saying where the last credit goes.

Updating this: the issue was resolved but it was a weird issue to begin with. I didn't realize that when I signed up for this service it included its own antivirus - it costs $0.99 a month but that doesn't come from your card on file, you have a balance. So, your service will simply cease and you won't know why - that's why. Otherwise, the service is fine. Only getting 4G here in northeast Italy but it works for me.

If I could give it zero stars, I would …absolute joke of a company and I will be writing a complaint the sim randomly stopped working and they tried to blame it on my phone saying it’s too old.
The worst telecommunications provider
I came to Italy for two months and wanted to have unlimited internet access to save money and have faster internet. I went to Windtre and paid €65 for two months. When I started using my new card, I immediately noticed that the internet quality was very poor, and I couldn't even connect to the internet in Italy itself. I need to work on my computer and use social networks, but this is impossible due to the very poor internet connection! And I couldn't even connect to the telecommunications representative's app! As a result, my plan discount for the next month was not activated, so I had to go to the Windtre store to sort it out and pay the "minimum" top-up amount again, which was €6... When I told the salespeople that your connection was very poor, I was told, "Maybe you're not in the coverage area"... Keep in mind that I lived near the center of Rome one month and further away the next, but the situation did not change. And when I went to towns like Civitella San Paolo, there was no connection at all! I used my Lithuanian card (as I always do when Italian telecommunications providers disappoint me).
If I had known that the internet and connection were so poor, I definitely wouldn't have signed up for a plan and paid €71 in total! I would have been better off upgrading my plan from Lithuania, and I guarantee I wouldn't have been disappointed. So, I really don't recommend Windtre's services. I suggest looking for another telecommunications provider or upgrading your existing plans from your own country. I feel ashamed of myself.
To top it all off, when it came time to pay for the additional account top-up, the payment terminal connection in their own store malfunctioned.
I wish Windtre would improve the quality of its services so that people using your services don't feel cheated when paying for services that are not provided properly.

Terrible product and non existant service
Sales people didn't know their product. The sim card they gave me doesn't allow for me to receive calls. The whatsapp chat help is a joke, sending me in circles with no resolution. I've bought sim cards on numerous trips to Europe. Wind Tre is absolutely the worst. Never again!

I have been a customer of Wind for over 10years and Infostrada for 10
years previous to that.
They do good offers but make sure you get them set up in person in the shop. This year I was abroad and I had no service. They activated a service that was not possible on my contract. When I explained this and asked them to rescind the offer they didn’t and I was duly charged. This was all done through a really slow and patchy WhatsApp service. The only way around this was to change contract, again in person.
Disappointing, a waste of a lot of people’s time and now that they are in the utilities and insurance business, an experience that will probably increase in the future. Financially it cost me 35€, but the way my request and complaint was handled lost over 10 years of good will. The message I received was that as a customer I’m just a means to an end and have no intrinsic value but I’m sure that’s no news to anyone.

I concur with all the negative reviews. Windtre customer service is awful. The service is not delivered as explained by the person who sold me the European SIM card. The service just stopped! When calling the so-called support/customer service number, on various days and times of day, I always received a "recipient unavailable" message. There's also not chat service on the website nor an email address for support. (There was an online contact form that could be submitted, but who knows they would respond?)
If there's a next, I'm going to try Vodaphone.

As an English speaker in Italy
As an English speaker in Italy, I really appreciate that both Windtre stores that I frequent have workers who will help me in English. I received great service in the Bergamo Orio Center and in the Como Bennet Lario store. I work from home and my Windtre wifi works well.

Bought a 3 x travel sims and was told it would work in the UK - it doesn’t. Cant contact anyone. AI response and they want led my name, email address, date of birth and tax number!! WTF!!? Still not resolved. DO NOT USE this provider!!
Stolen data by WindTre
My wife & I bought prepaid sims at the airport on Monday morning, mine was deactivated Friday afternoon without warning and with more than 29GB of data still on it. Tried everyday of the week to resolve it only to be strung along in circles. And even after my wife engaged them, still no resolution. Simply pathetic and WindTre has stolen my 29GB of data I paid for.

I read a lot of negative reviews. My experience with Windtre via del Tritone, ROME is different. The young nan who hosted and assisted us on Wednesday 25th June 2025, Mattia, was extremely polite and cooperative. He guided us through the typical Italian very complicated and bureaucratic process which makes it almost impossible for anyone do anything. He helped us and we got what we wanted in less than 20 minutes. Well done Mattia.
Internet connection extremely slow. They did not respect the 14 day free cancellation period.
I wanted a fast Internet connection at home. They offered a 300MB FWA connection with did give me from 3MB to 20MB on very good days. I asked to cancel it within 14 days for free as it is the customer's right. They made everything to delay this offering me to fix it, asking me for the wrong formulary, asking me for new emails or ignoring PEC emails. Now they tell me I have to keep the contract and pay. Or pay 700 euro for a cancellation. I have all the PEC receipts from my requests of cancellation and they simply say no.

Not worth buying
We bought Simbin Italy and paid massive amount with 200 GB and 100min calls to 30 different countries including where we are from. Had a virtual court case. The laptop lost charge and was not able to call with phone. Attempted also to call family members but never been successful. Tried to call Wind Tre on many occasions and ticked English but never was able to talk to anyone as the phone would cut off. All messages sent was in Italian. Do not purchase their tourist Sim, it is money grabbing scheme. We had so much problem with it and could not find anyone ie, English speaking Wind Tre offices to help us. It also gives a very small amount of data for some EU countries. False information given to make you purchase, this fraud and in our country it would be investigated.
