Never buy any products from Iolo.
It's a scam, and cancelling the auto-renewal is a real headache. They also include services that you never signed up for. I was charged $20 for six months before I realized it. Luckily, I was able to cancel the authorization with PayPal.

Ticket # 1754738 Edward was the first person I interacted with and when things were not progressing, he quickly realized he need assistance from his supervisor. Roderick, came on and realized the problems we were having and quickly analyzed the situation and proceeded to remedy the situation with the downloading of the Iolo Software. His ability to recognize and formulate a plan to take care of the issue with my computer. Led to a successful resolution of my issues.

Customer support sends you round in circles, have their System Mechanic Pro which has suddenly decided in the last few months to randomly delete stored passwords in Firefox. It appears that you have to upgrade to have access to these settings. If you try their customer support, you enter a circular journey with no end. Totally useless. I wish they warned you that the system would randomly delete information.

The have deceptive business practice regarding auto renewal as well as automatic sign up to their LiveTech. I would advise anyone to not get suckered in by them there are better solutions with more reputable comanies

It took awhile to get the right technician but when I did he was really great. He went over my computer completely and it is now working much better...and faster. I am so pleased to feel my computer is no longer unstable.

Now a Terrible company in my opinion.
Feels like they are using flawed subscription model to take your money.
Disappointing.
Sent me an email with a phone number which doesn't match the main page support number as a reminder of charges (808 number - WARNING already, it was listed on a secondary support page, - why would I look there when other number was so prominent and NOT the same 808 prefix?). The main page support number also explains that fraud is happening and not to trust emails with different phone numbers.
When I speak to an agent (decent wait time) my cancellation and refund became a negotiation game. What legitimate company does that? It felt like "Let's make a Deal". Will you accept $XX, no? how about $YY. THEN after I accepted the number to move on they had to get it approved. Even though they had already offered it to me (it was approved, all felt like their tactics to take something for nothing).
Based on the call, his readiness to quote policy and the negotiation game, this feels like part of their business model and not a one-off experience for them.
Shame as their product used to be good. Couldn't say for sure any more since I haven't used it in at least months potentially over almost a year (or more), even though I was just charged for another year.
To be clear, the promised refund was processed in a timely manner.

I received an email 13 Dec 2025 reminding me that my licence for System Mechanic Standard was scheduled for renewal on 15 Dec 2025 at £59.94 and over a month before expiry of my licence. I checked online and that price is well over prices quoted and furthermore I found out that they are automatically applying a monthly charge for support which I don’t want - this might be included in the £59.94 but nothing is mentioned in the reminder. Fortunately I was able to cancel the automatic renewal with PayPal since when I’ve received emails gradually reducing the renewal price to $14.98. I have used System Mechanic for years but will not renew as I can’t trust them anymore. I can get Norton Utilities Ultimate for £29.99 - I’ve used Norton years ago and am switching back.

I would have renew but the company would not accept my debit card because they say it was a pre paid card.
