The rates are good and thats about all.

The rates are good, no complaints there. However when you run into a problem you are on your own. The courier, Purolator, billed me for returning a shipment that they claimed the customer never picked up. The customer did indeed pick it up and Purolator has the signature to prove it. Not Netparcels fault at all but because the billing is done through Netparcel I need to be refunded by Netparcel. Didn't happen. I wasted more time in emails, 3 hours worth of phone calls just to get nowhere, than the bill is worth.

I was billed twice for the same parcel…

I was billed twice for the same parcel — two separate invoices from NetParcel with identical shipping details. After submitting a claim, it took customer service two months to respond, and their explanation kept changing. First, they claimed the parcel was overweight, even though the billable weight was already stated on the original invoice. When I pointed that out, they shifted to suggesting the box size was “maybe” larger, and so on.
Be cautious, they may bill you twice without warning. Always double‑check your invoices. Unfortunately, their customer service is not proactive in resolving issues.

Be very careful with these people. We sent a commercial parcel with clear sizing. clear weight, selected oversize package etc. Still received a $177 extra charge on a $130 initial qouote. Unacceptible. We can not go back to our customers and add the billing so we are now out of pocket. It would be simple for netparcel to update their interface to reflect extra charges but clearly they are scamming. no response from support. Really disappointed by these guys. Do not recommend.

EXTRA CHARGES. Way too often.

Keep getting extra charges claiming that I under weighed the package. I did not. I always state the weight as a little bit heavier than it actually it is just to avoid such issues. Then a few weeks later get a new invoice with new charges.

Terrible

we shipped a bunch of packages with purolator a few months back and now like 3 months later we are getting charged hundreds of dollars in handling fees and they refuse to show any proof purolator is charging them. Absolutely sick of dealing with this

They have been sending me extra costs…

They have been sending me extra costs for parcels that were cleared from over 3 months ago. This is absolutely disgusting behavior and shows you just how much they care about adding surcharges that are hidden to make their customers pay more

PLEASE DO NOT USE

1. The price is never accurate. They will surcharge you for anything from a "difficult label" to additional gas charge? I have had to pay additionally for EVERY package despite all packages being weighed and measured.
2. Their customer service is abhorrent. They ignore my calls and e-mails when I try to get refunds. I have paid out of pocket for their errors on several instances with insurance on my parcels and they will not refund me.
3. Good luck trying to get anything done with them. I continue to get re-activation errors.

Buyer Beware

Beware of this company. The worst in their industry for crazy high and random price adjustments. I suspect the "price adjustments" are not always coming from the couriers but rather made up extra charges by NetParcel

Increases prices AFTER payment with false claims

Netparcel has sent back invoices claiming package dimensions declared were incorrect, in the latest example by nearly 2kg of volumetric weight. We measure our packages carefully. They want PROOF OF SIZE 2 months after, instead of providing proof of incorrect declaration from the carrier. Scammers.

Unacceptable Operational Failure & Unethical Billing Practices

As a small business that relies on dependable logistics, my experience with NetParcel was a case study in operational failure. My international shipment was returned to the sender due to a customs issue.

The critical failure was a total communication breakdown. At no point was I, the shipper, notified by NetParcel or their carrier partner that the package was on hold so that I could take corrective action. I only learned of the problem from my own customer after the fact.

To make matters worse, NetParcel's support team's final response was to deflect all responsibility. They admitted in writing that I was "not at fault," but then had the audacity to insist that I must still pay the invoice for the service that was never rendered.

Their justification? They were unable to secure a refund from their own carrier partner.

This is an unacceptable and unethical business practice. NetParcel is attempting to bill its customers for its own lack of vendor oversight and its own supply chain failures. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend NetParcel for any shipments. They are not a reliable partner.

Great rates and options, discounts are amazing.

It seems that all the bad reviews are problems with transit and customs of their packages, etc. I don't think people realize that this company isn't the carrier and only provides good rates and booking ability. For those who want to save money with FedEx/UPS/Purolator, etc.. this is my experience:

I discovered them a few months ago and use them for all shipments cross border, intra-canada and intra-US. I've had problems with FedEx and once with UPS, but there was nothing wrong with the rate or with the label.

In terms of refunds for problem loads, that has to get approved by the carrier, which in my case took 7-8 days for FedEx to confirm that they never picked up the package. But I'm very grateful to Netparcel for doing all the legwork and refunding me, I didn't have to make a single call or proof of any kind. I've worked in logistics for many years and Netparcel is a platform, and in my personal experience they've been much more helpful than I would have expected.

I ship wallpaper from my 2 warehouses and like I said, all sorts of problems with the delays in delivery, inaccurate tracking info on Fedex's or UPS's website, but you have 10+ carriers to choose from.

Also, if you think Netparcel isn't providing you the answer right away, call the carrier and push them because more than likely it's Canada Post or others that are non-responsive and just useless.

Company keeps your money even if they fail to deliver

Company advertises it carries out cross-border deliveries. Their material contains nothing about risks at the level of US Customs. My package was returned to sender by US Customs, in what appears to be a most unusual a rare decison. NetParcel repeatedly refused me a refund.
In other words, they won't stand behind their product.
They will keep your money even if they fail to deliver.
The requested refund was only CDN$27.48.
I'd give them zero stars if possible
Buyer beware.

Avoid NetParcel at all costs. This company is completely unreliable and unprofessional.

I used NetParcel to ship a package to the United States and clearly indicated the international destination. Despite that, they provided me with an incorrect and incomplete commercial invoice, which caused the shipment to be rejected and returned by the carrier. This was a 100 percent error on their part.

When I reached out to their support team, they offered no accountability and tried to shift the blame to Purolator, even though the issue was entirely due to the faulty documentation NetParcel provided. Their response was dismissive, vague, and unhelpful. Instead of correcting their mistake, they offered to “advocate” for me with the carrier, which makes no sense because the mistake originated with them, not the carrier.

This has caused me significant delays and wasted time. Their customer service is slow, disorganized, and completely unresponsive when it matters most.

If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, do not use this service. There are far more reliable and accountable shipping companies out there. I’ll never use NetParcel again and strongly advise others to stay away.

If I could give them less I would

If I could give them less I would. They act as a 3rd party facilitator and when something goes sideways they don't have your back. Nothing but problems and as a small business owner we have to watch every dime, they do not help you at all. Out funds and as long as they get paid is all that matters

Poor customer service

Poor customer service - had a package scheduled 3 times for pickup (not net parcels fault that it wasn’t picked up) - what they failed at was my credit back.

I waited 2.5 months for the cancelled shipment. Absolutely horrible.

Absolute garbage service

Absolute garbage service. Shipped a package with a one day delivery, it got delivered 45!!! days later. Thought it was lost, filed a claim, and had to re-ship a new package to the customer who kept complaining. Once finally delivered, the contents were destroyed by the prolonged exposure to freezing temps, but they refused to provide any compensation, either for shipping or for the contents. Several other packages that I shipped with them had price 'adjustments', even though I always entered weight and dimensions with a good buffer.

Incompetence at a new level

Package arrived but courier didn't feel like using the buzzer to get into the building. Phone number was provided but chose not to call or text. Package was sent back to warehouse under incomplete address? Phoned as it didn't arrive the next day and was told courier couldn't get into building. I had sent them the buzzer number the day before as I now know the courier is incompetent. Now my package is sitting at the warehouse but they won't give me an address where I can pick it up. It isn't even scheduled to be delivered today. These guys are the kings of idiots. The only way these guys would be the meritocracy is if they lived in a village full of idiots. Package left Ottawa January 17th, still has not been delivered in Edmonton January 29th. If you live in Vancouver you may as well add another month. The tortoise they use to deliver these packages must have arthritis.

Scam company, avoid NetParcel

They do not tell you that you will be paying high brokerage fees when returning a parcel. Also, they increase the weight on the package to bill you more. Will be doing a chargeback.

Double billing scam.

As others have said, and as they themselves admit, the company works on double billing. You pay a fee for shipping, and then weeks pass and magically you get billed for 5-200% more on various other charges. I genuinely don’t know how this is legal? Myself and dozens of others I know who tried out netparcel during the Canada Post strike ALL had double billing problems, some with absurd 100-200% up charges. It is actually insane. I’ll be talking with my credit card company on doing charge backs for anything netparcel tries. Avoid at all costs.
