Terrible experience waiting for a home…

Terrible experience waiting for a home delivery that never arrived and was marked as delivered. When I questioned it I was told the delivery driver waited around for 45 minutes and telephoned . I didn’t receive any phone calls. They then stated that there was a digit missing in my telephone contact details. Also impossible, oh and then they heard a cracking noice on the line.
After many years, I now won’t be using Waitrose. They have problems with stock and almost out of date food.

I booked a very large home delivery as have been housebound with an acute illness.
My delivery driver Zak, was exceptional and went over and above with helping me get everything inside and assisting with unpacking it.
He was charming, polite, empathic yet very professional.
An absolute credit to himself and for representing Waitrose.

I’ve been have dental work and so I ordered their soup thinking it’d be more delicious than what I usually buy Convent Garden, their Chicken soup is rank, doesn’t even taste like chicken soup as it’s smothered in tarragon and
herbs and garlic, their cream of Tomato soup (Yeo Valley)what I bought stated in large heading Cream of Tomato, underneath this is small letters are red pepper and bldy garlic. It overpowers the soup, tastes nothing like Tomato soup. Ready meals were disgusting, all went in bin.
I won’t be shopping with them no more paying their silly prices.

EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Having just come out of hospital after a major operation, I thought it would be easiest to order an online shop from Waitrose. I couldn't have been more wrong! After receiving an order that was completely covered in cleaning fluid, which had leaked over everything from one of the bags, I immediately rang customer services to ask for them to collect the order and supply me with a new order. They told me to throw everything away and that I would have to order everything again, they couldn't just supply it from the online order I'd submitted. They promised a full refund after me sending photos of the shopping, which I duly did. Four members of staff and copious phone calls later, I'm still waiting for a refund almost a week later. My latest phone call resulted with me being told that my complaint was now being referred to another department, details of which they couldn't give me, and someone would be in touch. Obviously this is a lie. Tom Denyard, CEO of Waitrose, needs to improve the service!!! I'm a long standing customer at Waitrose and this has now encouraged me to shop elsewhere. I will NOT be shopping at Waitrose ever again, absolutely appalling service, the worst I've ever had. I would have given them 0 stars but unfortunately, it's not possible to do that here. They don't deserve a rating other than worse than appalling!!!

I went today to Porchester branch and requested for Delevery for Tuesday 10th Feb 2025.
They said they don’t have Delevery service for Tuesday so I have to do for Monday. So I discussed with my husband on the spot as I am not available at that time offered.
The guy says no more slots available within 5 mins and they don’t do Delevery after 2 pm.
I find this unbelievable as Waitrose is meant to be first class but thier services is pathetic.
This is worst service for clients.

What a dismal experience shopping at Hereford Waitrose.

What a dismal experience shopping at Hereford Waitrose is. From the chaotic and unclear car parking to the poorly stocked store, dirty and smelly toilets, disengaged staff and mundane products with high prices. The cafe staff were pleasant altho the prices are very steep, the selection poor and the cafe tables dirty and littered. My Americano at £3.10 was undrinkable.
We won't be back.

Waitrose Green Policy Is All One Way!

Waitrose fly the flag of 'saving the planet' & encourage customers to do the same, all well & good. Until you opt not to take a paper receipt & then attempt to return an item.
Just been told in a curt manner that I cannot return an item with ambiguous labelling because I do not have the receipt!
My advice is to always opt for a physical receipt when shopping at Waitrose, because their Green policy is all one way.
Their appalling rating here on Trustpilot speaks volumes, as does the fact that they never respond to customer reviews.
Now on to customer complaints.

As a loyalty customer for Waitrose I can see it’s very low quality of service

Every week I have home delivery from Waitrose ..and every week I buy around £ 170 till around more than £200 ..from 3 weeks ago I don’t receive a final confirmation order via email..3 times I contacted customer service to solve this problem but they don’t care..in many years that I am loyalty customer for Waitrose I saw many problems there which is not the expectation of us to Waitrose that everybody knows it’s expensive brand but customer expect high quality but it’s not ..
I am thinking to go to another brand and another store cause Waitrose just play with customers ..
When I contacted them or tell them the problem just they talk very sweet and nice but then no care ..

Waitrose forever!

Waitrose forever!
I can’t praise the staff enough and I’ve been to several, all over the country!
I have to say, even M and S can’t compare to customer care standards.
Give me the community of Partners and the staff reflect the loyalty one would hope still exists to employers!
In a world of changing uncertainty, poor training in jobs and a lack of good manners, this co actually have standards that go back to a time older people can recall where good service reflected the brand!
The food is the best animal friendly, welfare and farmer invested in the country! I wouldn’t go anywhere else!!!!
What on Earth are these dreadful reviews here about?
Don’t you people realise what good people Waitrose has???? Stop complaining and start shopping there - in person!

SHORT DATED DELIVERIES FOR MONTHS NOW

Online shopping as I'm disabled, I plan my meals for the week but when my shopping is delivered I have short dated items, I reported this as it kept happening for lots of shops.
They said something would be done but it is still happening, if I could get to the shop and walk around to do my shopping without being in pain, I would and I wouldn't choose stort dated items then, this is Abingdon branch..
I have complained again because my shopping was short dated on yesterdays shop but now I am being ignored.
DON'T DO ONLINE SHOPPING IF YOU CAN GO IN THE SUPERMARKET BECAUSE YOU WILL RECEIVE OUT OF DATE STUFF WITHIN A DAY AND THAT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE.
WAITROSE USED TO BE SO GOOD BUT AFTER THIS I WILL BE GOING BACK TO OCADO AS THERE STUFF IS ALWAYS LONG DATED.
I an stuck with Waitrose until the end of the month because I paid for a month's worth of deliveries and I can't afford to pay twice for deliveries.
Refund my delivery charge of £8 please so I can shop somewhere, where people actually care.

Very bad DELIVERY service

I was at home waiting for my order to be delivered. While I understand that delays can happen, the driver marked the order as “delivered” even though it was not delivered.
The driver stated that the premises were closed, which is incorrect. I was in the flat at the time, and no attempt was made to contact me. I did not receive any call or message to assist with entering the building or to confirm my presence.

Near miss on Listeria - but still missing refund and resolution

Bought mozzarella from Bagshot store - about to eat it when noticed had been sold majorly out of date. Raised this with customer services - lame response - didn't even refund the item! Still waiting to hear from head office.
Only upside - this diabolical level of service has inspired me (Theworkscounsel.co.uk) to blog - How to respond to a complaint - so thank you Waitrose for providing the real life case study of how NOT to respond.
