Customer Service This Bad Actually Takes Effort
Soon the 14th June 2024 I ordered an in stock item for my brothers birthday from Amazon, they then showed two other items associated with the first item so being a gullible mark I ordered those as well. The money for the first item was taken from my account on the 14th and the delivery date was given a July 18th.
By the 13th of July I have the two associated items (which are of no use without the main item) but not the main item, which at this point hasn’t even been dispatched, so I contact Amazon on the phone and I am told that they guarantee that the item will be with me by the 18th I even get an email confirming all this.
On the 18th the delivery estimate on the order suddenly changes 5th – 22nd of August! I get no email telling me this, but this is now the dates shown on the order. So I once again contact Amazon on the phone, they are ever so sorry and will expedite the dispatch and as a sign of goodwill and how sorry they offer £30 compensation. I really just want the item but compensation seems good?
The email I then receive having talked over the phone doesn’t mention expediting the dispatch and the compensation is now being referred to as a refund?, it does say this will be done within the next 3 hours. 24 hours later no change on the expected dispatch dates no compensation and I realize the Amazons customer service is really a lets just kick the gullible punter service.
Customer service this bad actually takes effort, getting that dissonance between what’s stated in a phone call, an email and on website costs, it’s far cheaper if they match.
