A new tool for an old podcaster

I produce podcasts and do a lot of critical audio editing. I was looking for an alternative to headphones, since I found it difficult to get a clear picture of the audio because I wear hearing aids. (Chemotherapy permanently damaged my hearing years ago.)
When I tried the Wave Pro IEMs, I was pleased with the clarity of the sound. But I also tested them by taking out the hearing aids and then generating sine waves at 8 KHz, 10 KHz, 12 KHz and 16 KHz. I wasn't able to hear the 16 KHz tone, but I heard the 12 KHz tone clearly. That surprised me because I normally can't hear that with studio monitors or regular headphones. I'm looking forward to editing what I'm recording with good microphones that will only make the podcasts sound better.
(Should I point out that I worked in radio for more than fifty years and I've used a lot of headphones?)

Thank you so much for sharing this remarkable and deeply personal review, Dan. Hearing how the Wave Pro IEMs are helping you regain clarity and confidence in such critical listening work truly means a lot to me and the entire team. Your careful testing and decades of experience in radio and audio make your feedback especially meaningful, and it’s incredibly rewarding to know the Waves revealed detail you typically can’t hear with other monitors or headphones. I’m really glad they’re proving to be a useful new tool for your podcasting and editing work, and I wish you many great-sounding recordings ahead.

Best,
