ALSO X5(?) where are Steve’s parents?? Literally the ONLY time we even see them is in Henry’s memory when Steve’s dad talks to Joyce. WHY ARE THEY LITERALLY NEVER SEEN OR TALKED ABOUT??

Something I hate about writing for fandoms in the 1960-1980’s ish timeline (The Outsiders specifically) is that no matter how hard I try, i will ALWAYS write like someone from the 2000’s and I literally can’t stop it’s so bad
Darry and Soda learned how to cook from their mom but Pony was too young to be taught by her so he ended up having to teach himself because his brothers were too busy to teach him after their parents died
Modern Pony, Curly, and Johnny go trick or treating even as teens because 1: Free candy and 2: Darry doesn’t want Pony at any dangerous parties. Pony isn’t actually safer though because he’s always doing some dumb shit with Curly, like pushing each other in the road or breaking open and eating glow sticks. Johnny is there for supervision but he gets dragged into the antics every time.
Steve would LOVE trunk-or-treat but only because he gets to decorate his car with whatever he wants AND he gets to see all the other cars
Pony and Curly do matching costumes but it’s not SUPER noticeable, like you have to understand what they are to tell it’s even vaguely a couple’s costume.
Sorry for kind of disappearing off the face of the earth, school has been absolutely kicking my ASS. I’ve also developed an obsession with The Black Phone and The Long Walk (there’s something about doomed boys that gets me, I guess) so I’ll probably start posting about them as well.
